My 9 Fitness Secrets

I honestly, didn’t have title for this post. There are a few things that I do for my fitness, gymming etc and I wanted to put all that in one single post. So here are some tidbits about me as far as fitness goes. Hope some of you find it useful. If you have some tips that you follow, please do share in the comments below.ย 

  1. I start my work out by sipping a glass of water, I sip water during the work out and ย I finish off my work out with a small glass of water. Hydration is the key for me while exercising.
  2. I always wear black bottoms to gym. As pretty as coloured lowers may look, they look so tacky patchy after they get sweaty. Especially light grey ones.. ๐Ÿ˜
  3. Cardio is the base of my exercise routine. And I don’t have very strong knees. So I invest in the best kind of shoes available in the market. The shoes shown above are from Nike and these are the ones that athletes wear. Super super lightweight and have saved my knee from any injury so far.ย These shoes have a purple lining but since I clicked the pic black and white, you can’t see it. Wish they came in fun neon colors though. ๐Ÿ˜ย Also to avoid any knee injury I like to jog for long than do insane sprinting and then slow down suddenly. It may work for some but I avoid giving such high shocks to my knees.
  4. When I am finding it really hard to jog on the treadmill, I start counting in my head. ๐Ÿ˜› It works!!
  5. Banana or some fruit with peanut butter is my fav post workout meal. Okay, I confess, sometimes I eat dark chocolate too. ๐Ÿ˜›
  6. I don’t wear any makeup to the gym. I don’t think anyone should. It clogs pores and leads to acne. Let your skin breathe when you exercise. I even tie my hair up in a pony.
  7. I work out 4-5 days a week.
  8. I stretch after I finish my workout, always.
  9. I wear a ton of perfume to the gym to make it the environment smelling good. ๐Ÿ˜› And I change my socks everyday.Just saying… ๐Ÿ˜›

Regarding my workout:

I thought I’d write a post on Missfit regarding this but then I realised that i wouldn’t go beyond 100 words so I dropped the idea. ๐Ÿ˜› Until a month back I was doing cardio + weight training. But it ‘s been almost a month now that I have’t been able to work out regularly – home trip, birthday, holidays, monthly offs.. grr.. So I now I have started with cardio ( mostly treadmill and cross trainer) again and would slowly move to weight training.

    Even I do dancing early morning just to freshen up my tired body …
    And yess I also drink 1-2 glass of water early morning ..

    when it gets boring on treadmill or otherwise running, i start fantasizing about my future or what clothes i would wear on my marriage occasions whenever it happens, or what to pair with what etc and i end up running more than i intended… ๐Ÿ˜›

    1. Same pinch. Hahaha. For me treadmill becomes most boring with empty thots. I also look here n der,wats happening in n around me,feels lyk clock is pacing up. N calorie count also acceleratea.

  4. Gr8 post. Cud relate to most of d points. Black bottoms r so essential for workouts.
    For anyone who wants a crispier n narrow face/ jawline.
    Spot jump,step ups,n any form of cardio is gr8.
    Hv seen a noticeable change on my face in 1.5 months.

  5. Nice tips. Even I keep thinking to divert attention from treadmill induced fatigue and before my thoughts run out, my treadmill time is over. Yayy ๐Ÿ˜› *hihi*
    And the popular myth that if you workout on empty stomach tgen you’ll burn stored fat is a big big LIE!
    It’s important to have pre workout meal before 30-60mins like oatmeal, fruits or glass of buttermilk or two slices wgole wheat bread.

  7. Thanks for sharing this Rati… reminds me I have to get good shoes for workout.. I usually hate exercising with machines.. prefer floor exercises and love aerobics n kickboxing… had started working out but laziness swept over.. feel all motivated to start again… oh and day b4 yest I started with belly dancing too.. it’s amazing and fun… *happydance* *happydance* *happydance*

    1. oh and ya I know treadmill used to bore me to death inspite of good songs plugged in.. so I used to get my trainer to chit chat with me while I got on treadmill.. hihihi… *hihi* *hihi*

    1. Hi Shrutika, Such a cute comment. Couldn’t resist but answer. Cardio is short for Cardiovascular, meaning your heart. Cardio exercise includes those of running and cross training (it is a machine), cycling, jogging, skipping etc, Cardio exercises strengthen your heart which pumps blood. Hope this helps

  9. Really helpful tips! I have weak knees too and was using it as an excuse to avoid any kind of exercise. Now I know that I just need to go shopping ๐Ÿ˜€ Here I come Nike!

  10. Hey Rati such a great post. I so agree with grey bottoms. I have seen ugly sights at times and it really gives me shudders. I never would do that. I would infact term it as faux pas
