Forest Essentials Hydrating Sea Salt Crystal Rose Body Polisher Review

Skin type: Normal-Dry

I love body polishers like a maniac. No, really! First, because they solve my issue of ingrown hair to a good extent. Second, I love how they freshen up the skin and make it smooth. This body polisher by Forest Essentials is pure luxury – full of organic ingredients and roses. I have used Forest Essentials Body Mist in Rose and Cardamom and quite liked its fragrance, so thought of giving this polisher a try too.

Forest Essentials Hydrating Sea Salt Crystal Rose Body Polisher Review

Product Description:
This Hydrating Sea Salt Crystal Rose Body Polisher gently removes dead cells and rejuvenates the skin . It deeply penetrates the skin; detoxifies and re-energizes the skin to impart a youthful and fresh look. Moisturizing properties of natural cold pressed oils help in cell regeneration. Ayurvedic herbs like Ashwagandha and Gokharu are rich in anti-oxidant properties thus prevent skin damage that occur due to toxins, stress and pollutants that cause premature ageing of the skin. Regular use of this body polisher gives a radiant skin with ultra rich smoothness.

My Experience with Forest Essentials Hydrating Sea Salt Crystal Rose Body Polisher:

packaging

The packaging looks like pure luxury and totally worth the price initially. But soon you realise how inconvenient the packaging is. First, there is a cardboard box which is sturdy and huge; I do not have any complaints with it though. I do not like the immediate packaging of the scrub, i.e. this huge plastic jar. The jar is bulky and cannot be taken along on travels. The plastic looks strong but is not; it will shatter if you happen to drop the jar.

spatula

Another thing I do not like is that, since the product is rich in oil, it leaks. I take good care (have to) of the packaging, clean it thoroughly, and still it leaks and stains. The good thing is that the body polisher comes with a spatula, which makes it easy to mix the product and to take it out. It also comes with an oil which you can use if your scrub gets dry in future.

sugar scrub

The body polisher smells of fresh roses, well lots of them! I do not mind the fragrance of roses, in fact I quite like that fragrance. But, this fragrance becomes too much to bear in my bathroom. It lingers a lot and stays on my body for hours. Hence after some time, say 15 minutes or so, it becomes very overpowering. But, if you are a hardcore lover of everything quintessentially roses, you will love this fragrance. You always have the option to sniff it at the store, just to be sure.

tub

The polisher is made of sea salt which is soaked in this flower oil. When used on wet skin, it melts away quickly and does not really feel like anything. It just feels as if I am massaging my skin with oil. When used on dry skin, it feels quite exfoliating and harsh – just the way I like. As the brand claims, it is hydrating and in fact moisturising. But, it does not make my skin feel fresh or rejuvenated. It does make my skin smooth and radiant, but not exceptionally. Still I do not like this scrub a lot. Thank God, it does not create any mess in the bathroom though. Phew!

ayurveduic scrub

Even though it does not feel harsh, it has the tendency to scratch the skin. This never really happens with me, since I do not have sensitive skin, but this scrub scratched my skin even when used on wet skin. And, the marks are still there! I do not feel this exfoliator has the property to prevent the occurrence of ingrown hair, since it does not exfoliate deeply.

consistency

I do not feel this is the best body polisher out there. I love my Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Soy Milk and Honey Body Polish and would rather buy that one again. FE one does not work well as an exfoliator, if you have used better ones you too will feel the same. It does not make my skin feel fresh post bath. My skin feels a little oily. I do not know if I am being over dramatic here, but this body polisher could not really impress me. I like something refreshing and deeply exfoliating, that’s just a personal choice.

Would I Repurchase Forest Essentials Hydrating Sea Salt Crystal Rose Body Polisher?
The fragrance, though I love it, becomes too much too bear after a while for me, so I would not repurchase this one. Also, am not really impressed with the performance.
