Forest Essentials Mashobra Honey and Vanilla Hair Cleanser Review

Hello Ladies,

How you all doing? Its been a long time since I wrote any review, though I have so many to be done from my end. I have been real busy in the process of moving to US. In all that hurry, I did not forget to pack my Forest Essentials Mashobra Honey and Vanilla Shampoo and Conditioner. Though we get endless options for skin and hair care here in the US, I am sure I am going to miss the all-natural Indian Brands. Anyway, let’s get on to the review:

My Experience with Forest Essentials Mashobra Honey and Vanilla Hair Cleanser:

This is my first shampoo from Forest Essentials. I like their Ubtan so much and use them religiously. I made a trip to FE just to buy their shampoo and conditioner after reading Rati’s review on Rose Absolute shampoo and conditioner. The SA told me that the Rose Absolute and Mashobra Honey and Vanilla Shampoo are for dry hair.

Nozzle

I have used the Mashobra Honey and Vanilla Bath Oil and I quite liked the fragrance. All their products from that range smell the same.  So, I picked up that shampoo and conditioner.

It is a honey-coloured shampoo with a really pleasant smell.  I surely could smell vanilla. It has something more to it.

I must admit that when I first used the shampoo, I was not impressed. I had to use more shampoo than the usual amount to wash my hair which is a little below my shoulder.  Note that I hadn’t oiled my hair that day.

After washing, I found it a bit difficult to de-tangle my hair.  After drying, my hair was a little frizzy and looked a little dry. I tried a couple of different conditioners with it to see it it would work. There was no luck for the first few times.

But as I started using it again and again, I got to see the difference. Sure natural products need some time to show the effect. My hair started becoming softer, more manageable and got a natural shine to it. I have used it for 1 month now (7-8 times) and I’m quite happy with the result. I have good volume of hair. It did add a little more volume to my hair. Don’t mistake this for frizziness 🙂

Shampoo

The only con in this shampoo is that this bottle would last me for around 15 washes, which is hardly 2 months. Otherwise, it is definitely a good shampoo for normal to dry hair, especially if you have less volume.

Pros of Forest Essentials Mashobra Honey and Vanilla Hair Cleanser:

  • Lovely fragrance.
  • Almost natural ingredients.  Contains Imidazolidinyl Urea as a preservative. Looks like it is not a harmful preservative.
  • Leaves hair very clean.
  • Hair smells good for a couple of days.
  • Did not notice any extra hair fall while using it or after.
  • Does not make the scalp oily until next hair wash.
  • Adds volume to hair.

Cons of Forest Essentials Mashobra Honey and Vanilla Hair Cleanser:

  • Need more shampoo than usual.
  • A little on the pricey side. I wouldn’t call it pricey if I pay Rs. 680 and get to use it for at least 30 times.
  • I have used the shampoo for 7-8 times and its more than half empty, would last for another 10 washes maximum.
  • Not suitable to wash heavily-oiled hair.

Do I Recommend Forest Essentials Mashobra Honey and Vanilla Hair Cleanser?

I would definitely recommend this shampoo if you are looking for a luxurious bath experience. The fragrance does relax your mood and give a really good bath experience. If you don’t like spending more on a shampoo, then it might not be a good choice.

Hope this review was helpful. Will catch you guys soon on my next review. Bye 🙂
