Forest Essentials Rose Shampoo Review :

Price : Rs 650 for 200 ml

Shampoo Ingredients :shampoo ingredients

My Experience with Shampoo:

It is a yellowish brown color shampoo that smells of roses. It is a SLS free shampoo.  Contains amla juice, ritha, protein and coconut oil. It lathers pretty fine , not too much but it is a mild lathering shampoo. It cleanses the scalp thoroughly. But if you have oiled your hair, you have to shampoo twice to get rid of the oil. It does not make my hair overly dry or frizzy. Keeps my scalp clean without leaving any residue behind. It keeps my hair soft and adds shine to my hair. It has never caused any hairfall either.

If you have oily scalp, I don’t think this would be the best shampoo to use.

Conditioner Ingredients : conditioner ingredients

Price : Rs 750 for 200 ml

My Experience with the Conditioner :

The conditioner works equally well for my hair as does the shampoo. I feel together they make an effective product for dry hair. It is milky white semi liquid conditioner that smells heavenly of roses. Although I have to say that the fragrance does not last for more than a day but I am okay with it. The conditioner spreads easily in hair and gets washed off without leaving any trace of residue behind. It leaves my hair nourishes and moisturized. It does not weigh down my hair. I would say that my hair do not get greasy for 3 days ,which is fine with me . I wash my hair quite frequently . The best part is that even after 3 days, my hair barely gets tangled but they look a bit greasy. It leaves my hair soft , and shiny. It also adds a bit of volume to my hair but I would say that L’occitane conditioner adds more volume to my hair.

The packaging of both shampoo and conditioner is quite simple. I love that these come in clear bottles so you get to see the amount of product left in the bottle.

Overall, I totally love this shampoo and conditioner combo. They have worked pretty well for my hair. I would be shifting between Forest Essentials and L’occitane Shampoo & Conditioner because I have found stuff that really works for my hair. 🙂

UPDATE : It is not a SLS Free Shampoo.

  1. This sounds good Rati…Does it control frizz? Which one do you think is better for super dry n super frizzy hair? This one or l’occitane?

    1. i think if you are really looking for something that tames frizzy hair, i suggest that you go for loccitane one. that is more moisturizing than this.

  2. Thank you so much Rati for this review… 🙂
i have same question as above… which one do you think is better : Loccitane or FE???

    1. i like both. as i mentioned i would be switching between the two as hair sort of stop responding well if you keep using the same product for a very long time.

  3. awesome…looks like a good shamp -cond combo 🙂 🙂 same question as Jyo,,,u think this would work for frizzy hair??

    1. shanaiia, i dont have issues with frizzy hair. but i would suggest loccitane combo if you are looking for controlling frizz. both of them dont claim to control frizzy hair but i would say i found loccitane shampoo and conditioner more hydrating than this one.

  5. This sounds rather nice! I love toiletries which smell like rose. They give such a luxurious feel. 😀 😀 I will give it a try when I want a change from my newly bought L’Occitane. :woot: :woot: :woot: I got the creamy Olive Tree shampoo a few days back! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: If I had known how soft it makes your hair, I’d have spent that small fortune on L’Occitane years ago! 😛 Do you have conditioner recommendations to go along with it?

  6. Rati, this shampoo sounds really awesome.. :woot: Will get this surely after finishing my TBS rainforest shampoo.

  8. Hi Rati, I have used the jasmine variant of forest essential shampoo, which was meant for oily hair according to SA. Shifted to loccitane after that :), nice pics and review though
