My Experience with Forest Essentials Sandalwood and Orange Peel Facial Moisturizer:

Let’s begin with the packaging of the product. The facial moisturizer comes in a regular Forest Essentials packaging. The clear plastic bottle comes with a pump dispenser that makes it very easy to use. The bottle has a clear cap that fits very tightly and makes this bottle fit for travel purposes. The bottle has a golden band at its neck that provides a little luxurious look to this bottle. The clear bottle displays the milky white moisturizer in it. The transparency of the bottle helps to know the amount of product left in the bottle. Overall, the packaging is nice and sturdy.

This facial moisturizer is a thick milky white liquid. The moisturizer has a strong floral fragrance with some citrus hints. The smell is quite strong and will surely bother people with sensitive noses, but I like the smell. The minty scent gives an instant feel of freshness. The smell lasts long, for around 5 hours. The texture of this facial moisturizer is thick and creamy. It does not have that flow-y consistency. It is not very lightweight and feels slightly heavy on the skin. The moisturizer blends easily into the skin within seconds. The moisturizer feels heavy on the skin and makes my combination skin very oily. So, it is not fit for normal to oily skin types. It might work nicely on dry skin types. It might work well in harsh summers when the skin gets very dry but it is not suitable for summers.

It will provide adequate moisturization in winters. It deeply nourishes my skin. My skin feels soft, smooth and deeply moisturized. The moisturization of this facial moisturizer lasts almost all day long. So, I do not require frequent reapplication with this facial moisturization. The results that I observed after using this moisturizer along with its facial wash (Orange Peel) were impressive. It made my skin healthy and glowing. I actually noticed a significant difference in my complexion too, though the brand does not claim anything like this. My face looked fairer than usual with a few uses. The product helps to restore the natural firmness of my skin. The moisturizer is enriched with Basil, Ashwagandha and Barley protein, which claim to reduce the harmful effects of free radicals and fight signs of ageing. So, I was really impressed with the results of this product. The moisturizer comes with SPF-25 that makes it fit to be used under sun also.

Now, comes the saddest part, though I noticed a visible difference in my skin’s texture. It made my skin fairer and healthy looking, but it broke me out like hell. Yes, you read it right! Despite doing wonders to my skin, the breakouts broke my heart, and I had to stop using this product. After a few days, when my skin calmed down, I again started using this moisturizer and there were breakouts all over again; this time, I found it really difficult to calm down my skin breakouts. Overall, the product gives good results but it is not suitable for sensitive and acne-prone skin.

  1. Hey Palak, thank you so much for the review. I have been eyeing this one for quite some tine but didn’t get it as there were no reviews. But from your review I can see its not suitable for me. I have oily skin. Such a disappointment. I like everything else about it.

    1. Yes Swathi, it is not suitable for oily & sensitive skin. Glad to know that my review helped you in deciding about the product. 🙂
