Freeman Cucumber and Aloe Vera Soothing Body Lotion Review

Freeman was one of the brands I started with ever since I started to splurge on these awesome beauty products. My first face mask belonged to Freeman as far as I can remember, and that was the Freeman Cucumber Peel-Off Mask, and 2 months back when I noticed this on a shopping spree, I knew I had to get this. Read to know how this worked for my combination skin.

My Experience with Freeman Cucumber and Aloe Vera Soothing Body Lotion:

The cucumber and aloe vera lotion from Freeman comes in a super bright and refreshing green colour, and I must say the packaging totally resembles the name. It is a curvy bottle with cucumber slices and aloe vera strands over it splashed in water which conveys how soothing would it be. It has a flip open cap in white which does not harm my nails, but the hole which lets out the product is pretty big. Hence I always end up squeezing more quantity than needed. I didn’t realise it is a 400 ml bottle until I came across the tiny font at the bottom of the bottle. Great quantity at great price, keep it up Freeman!

Although the bottle is loaded with a huge amount of lotion, it isn’t really heavy to use during travels. In fact it can become your summer cooler when travelling in heat during summers. The lotion is white in colour, and it is pretty thick in consistency. It cannot be aptly called a lotion because it is thicker than other lotions, but not as thick as body butters. Just a squeeze is needed as it spreads beautifully and smoothly on my skin. The lotion opens up with a strong scent of refreshing cucumber with hints of aloe vera; finally after 20 minutes, it settles to a milder version.

I find the scent super refreshing and soothing, and it is the same as their cucumber peel off mask. But yes, this smell isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. This is one of those lotions that have to be massaged in order to get absorbed. Because when I start rubbing it, it creates a whitish cast which has to be massaged perfectly. Yes it is a little heavy and no complains because it is made especially for dry skin and hence it needs to have a heavy boost of moisture. But it gets absorbed beautifully in my skin without leaving any greasy cast behind. So this lotion is an all rounder, and can be used during any time, any season and by any skin type.

Initially when I am massaging it, it gives my skin a very relaxing and cooling sensation, which feels blissful. It gives ample hydration to my skin and the hydration lasts for a good 8-9 hours for my combination skin; for very dry skin it will last around 7 hours. It makes my skin look well maintained, but in the morning, it again turns a little dry. So re-application is definitely needed. This is a very simple body lotion that aims to treat your dry skin and make it look healthier, so do not expect any changes in the skin. It will be a great summer lotion, so I am saving it for next summers.

• A very fresh looking bottle in vibrant green color
• Very convenient to carry; despite being heavy, it can be adjusted in the bag
• Amazing amount of quantity at an amazing price
• The body lotion has to be massaged; in a way will help tone the skin
• It is thick in consistency which is why it gives my skin a boost of much needed hydration during the cold weather
• The lotion has a soothing and relaxing cucumber scent
• It gets absorbed pretty quickly, and does not leave a greasy cast, making it is suitable for dry, oily and normal skin
• Treats my dry skin very well, transforming the dry patches into healthy skin
• Decent everyday lotion to use after shower and at bedtime

Cons of Freeman Cucumber and Aloe Vera Soothing Body Lotion:

• No SPF
• Might feel a little heavy initially
• Not everyone will like this cucumber scent

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Freeman Cucumber and Aloe Vera Soothing Body Lotion?
I am not sure because this is going to last long as I am saving it for next summer. Yes I do recommend it as it is a decent one to pamper your skin every day.
