My Experience with Garnier Fructis Strengthening Serum:

The reason for me to buy this product was to get shiny and manageable hair. My hair has become very dull and very unmanageable due to application of henna. I read about this product in “Femina” and thought it would be a good option. This product does detangle unruly hair, but weighs down the hair if the amount is not checked. It smoothens the hair and also adds shine, but this product is nothing much to rave about. There are several other products available in the market, which are way better than this one. It has a very strong and typical hair oil type jasmine smell. The smell is very annoying though it becomes very mild when applied to hair. The product can be re-applied, but only on wet hair. The amount to be applied has to be very small, preferably 3-4 drops is sufficient for medium length hair. It hasn’t helped my hair to reduce breakage nor has it made it longer. Overall, this product is not one of the best from Garnier.

  1. btw is it just me or does ne one else find the ad for this product offensive, it is like if you have curly hair , you are jungli haired and it needs to be set straight. wen will we have an ad where the curly haired girl is the star of the show.

also i saw u mentioned ur hair became dry due to using henna, i know what you mean, here are a few things i do to avoid this,
i add a bit of methi paste (soak methi seeds in water and make a paste in mixer after 3-4 hours of soaking, i often soak them overnight) and curd to your henna pack. i keep a methi paste dibbi in my fridge to add whenever i like.
add a few drops of oil to henna.
once u wash off henna, just use some olive oil as a hair serum. let me know if these tips work for u.

    1. even i din’t like their ad supriya.. for that matters, i never like any hair care or skin care ads.. they are just so boring flaunting the artificial CG hair or skin.. :yuck:

    2. I agree with u wholeheartedly, Supriya. :haanji: :haanji: I didn’t like that ad for the EXACT same reason.
Straight hair is definitely beautiful n lovely, but curly hair too has its own beauty if maintained well(anyone who has seen Samantha’s pic here on IMBB will agree!! Her hair looks FAB).
Ads can be so stereotypical… Fair skin = beauty (Courtesy: Fair n lovely) and now Curly hair = Jungli!!!!

      1. you bet ramya, i mean poorly maintained hair is a problem, be it straight or curly, so is dull skin a problem, be it fair or dark. however all our ads show some strange ideals of beauty.. as a child with curly hair and dusky skin growing up in india, i thought that no one would ever look at me, and i would be the ugliest woman on earth.. but it was only much later in life tht i realised it is so much of stereotypes that make children think like that..
