Garnier Ultra Doux Avocado Oil and Shea Butter Nourishing Shampoo Review

Hello ladies!

I am back with a review of a shampoo again. This time it is from Garnier. I just love Garnier shampoos. They have been always good for me. Let us see how well they have been this time.

My Experience with Garnier Ultra Doux Avocado Oil and Shea Butter Nourishing Shampoo:

Garnier Ultra Doux Avocado Oil and Shea Butter Nourishing Shampoo Review

Garnier has launched this subrange of Ultra Doux range recently. I was as eager to know what makes it exceptional from the regular one. The reason was clearly mentioned on the bottle. For Ultra Doux, Garnier has selected and optimized cleaning agents of plant origin in a unique formula that adds softness and respects the hair.

My mom bought this from UAE, along with its conditioner. My little brother who is eight years old started vouching about a shampoo the day he reached here. He came near me and asked me to touch his hair and see how soft it felt. It was indeed soft, but I was least bothered about it as my full concentration was only on the chocolates! 🙂 The next day, he asked me if I had used the shampoo and I said no. This kept happening for two days and then he came to me with this shampoo and conditioner in his hand.

I fell in love with its packaging at the very first sight. The custard yellow colored bottle with avocados and shea butter’s image simply stole my heart. And then, I was eager to try this out and review it on IMBB. 😀 For day one, I used both the shampoo and the conditioner. The next time, I decided to use the shampoo alone for the day to see its solo performance.

The packaging is great and the flip flap has a leaf imprint over it. The color of the shampoo is the same as that of the custard-yellow color of the bottle and its consistency is pretty thin compared to the other shampoos. It lathers up pretty easily and with less effort. It smells of a yummy fruit flavour and thereby no issues to sensitive nose. I took before and after pictures to see the real effects and sadly the results were not great.

Garnier Ultra Doux Avocado Oil and Shea Butter Nourishing Shampoo Review3

The shampoo simply absorbed the moisture from my hair and didn’t perform as per my expectations at all. It claims to have the benefit of both avocado oil and Shea butter, but either that claim is false or shea butter and avocado oil both can’t provide hair with sufficient hydration! So, I suppose it won’t be of much help to people with very dry or frizzy hair. I don’t think this shampoo is worth the money, as you get many better options.

Pros of Garnier Ultra Doux Avocado Oil and Shea Butter Nourishing Shampoo:

• It lathers easily
• Only a little quantity is required for each use
• Attractive packaging
• Nice, fruity smell
• Claims to have no parabens
• No silicone formula
• Claims to have the benefit of Avocado oil and Shea butter

Cons of Garnier Ultra Doux Avocado Oil and Shea Butter Nourishing Shampoo:

• It gives the results only if you use it along with its conditioner
• The thin consistency makes the product drip to the floor
• I guess it is not very travel friendly
• Not all of its claims are true

IMBB Rating:
2/5

Would I Repurchase Garnier Ultra Doux Avocado Oil and Shea Butter Nourishing Shampoo?
No, I won’t purchase this shampoo again as it has not given me desired results. And, would not even recommend it. I am not at all happy with the product, especially the way it behaves sans without the conditioner.

See you soon with the review of its conditioner.
Till then, Take Care! 😛

  1. Garnier shampoos always make my hair dry and frizzy and I make sure I stay away from them. How can something have Avocado Oil and Shea Butter and make hair dry? :/

    1. They don’t really have any avocado oil nor Shea butter. They just have bad ingredients like any shampoo. They might smell something but the thing it smells won’t be part of the ingredients. All shampoos smell something different to make people believe they have different ingredients though all shampoos have the same ingredients. If you really want to put avocado and Shea butter on your hair then buy these both ingredients separately and make a mask home made yourself.

  2. I recently purchased this product and reading this review has left me rather dissappointed as I was looking forward to using this. Ah well, nevermind I’ll just wait for it to finish and then soon buy the new shampoo. Thanks for the review 🙂
