Giorgio Armani #12 Gold Ashes Eye Tint Review

Hello everyone,

A long time back, I had bought a few shades from the Giorgio Armani’s eye tint range. Even though I was super impressed by them and had my mind on picking up more shades, I never got around to it. But recently, I re-discovered my love for them and hauled a few more shades. This review will be on the Giorgio Armani Eye Tint in the shade #12 Gold Ashes.

Product Details:
A long-lasting, tinted formula with the comfort and smoothness of a cream for intense, vibrant eye looks.

What it does:
This innovative formula transforms from liquid to solid, instantly adhering to the eyelid while providing 16 hours of smudge- and crease-proof wear. Formulated with a hold booster, a creamy polymer with glycerine that allows pure color pigments to blend together seamlessly and stay on lids, this tint is infused with a color vibrancy booster, which is enriched with natural pigments and pearls. This unique complex works together to evenly disperse high-density color. This eye tint features dynamic runway-inspired shades that can be used as an eye shadow or eyeliner, or layer them together for natural to glamorous looks. This innovative formula debuted at the Giorgio Armani Womenswear Spring/Summer 2015 show.

My Experience with Giorgio Armani #12 Gold Ashes Eye Tint:

Packaging:  These eye tints come in an innovative packaging. They have a lip gloss type of tube with a long doe-foot flat applicator. You can see the color of shadow through the tube which is great for those who own a few shades from this range. This type of packaging is extremely travel friendly and easy to use on the go.

Texture and Application:  These eye tints have a very whipped creamy mousse-like consistency. You can apply the color directly on the lid with the help of the wand and blend out with your finger or a synthetic brush. I did find using a synthetic brush gave me much opaque coverage as my fingertips tend to wipe away the product as I blend. This shade does apply a bit streaky with blending if more than one layer is applied. It did not build well on itself and tends to bunch up. This shade would definitely benefit from having a good base/primer underneath to help it adhere evenly.

Shade/Finish/Pigmentation:  The shade “12 Gold Ashes” is a gorgeous pale champagne gold which also tends to pull a silvery shift under a different light. This shade is very flattering and it pulls the best quality of both gold and silver shades, hence it would be apt to wear with traditional Indian attires and party wear.

The finish is very metallic and shimmery with a wet look on the eye. It has lots of shimmer in it. The pigmentation is beautiful and goes on semi opaque. It looks best with just one layer. You can top this with a powder shadow too if you like to intensify the look.

Staying Power:  The staying power is amazing. Once these eye tints set on the lid, they do not move. The shimmers don’t travel on the face. If you have oily or hooded eyelids, these eye tints may crease slightly but that can be avoided by using a good base. I wore this at a recent Indian party and it stayed flawless the whole time (I wore it for around 6 hours) and showed no sign of fading.

Overall, I absolutely love these eye tints. They have an amazing, easy-to-use formula, and come in an array of beautiful metallic shades, but this shade is my absolute favorite.

In the EOTD, I have used Giorgio Armani Eye Tint in Gold Ashes all over the lid and blended with a matte green shadow in the crease which matched my dress. False lashes are Huda Beauty lashes in the style “Samantha.”
