Going for a Night-Out? Pack these 10 Essentials in your Clutch Now!

By Aditya M.

Hello everyone,

When it comes to purses, I think “The bigger the better!” I’m always one to keep all my unnecessary junk in my bag. However, for a night out, we don’t want to be carrying around a huge purse, so we usually have to opt for clutches. The problem with clutches is that there’s literally no room for all of our things! It can be such a hassle when you want to look your best for a night in the city, but you’re unable to carry all of your belongings. Thankfully, IMBB has created a list of essentials to keep in your clutch. You can mix and match these per your liking.

1. Any type of lip balm:  This is really obvious, but it’ll keep your lips moisturized especially if they’re going to be in contact with alcohol from drinking. I recommend EOS lip balms, they last so long on my lips 🙂

2. Fashion Tape/Double-sided tape:  This is necessary for awkward cut dresses that need to stay a certain way. If I’m wearing something that might be a little low cut, I’ll use this to keep the fabric in place, so it doesn’t shift while I’m moving about.

3. Roll-on fragrances:  These are the best because they’re so slim and will easily fit into your clutch. Roll-on fragrances are great and if you can’t find them, samples of your favorite perfumes are a viable option as well. They’re incredibly tiny and won’t take up so much space in your clutch.

4. Multipurpose makeup product:  This is a little product specific, but NARS The Multiple is great. This overall makeup stick highlights eyes, cheeks, lips and body. They have multiple shades to suit your skin tone. I prefer Maui, which is a dusty rose shade, it’s very bright and refreshing.

5. Tide-to-go for messy eaters like me:  This is a marker that will get stains out instantly. It doesn’t work for really strong stains like wine and tea, but will get out mild to medium stains.

6. Mints for fresh air:  Mints are always a nice thing to carry around, especially after meals or after drinking.

7. Safety pins:  I always like to keep a few safety pins just in case. These saved my friend when one of the buttons on her blouse broke. They really come in handy when you least expect it.

8. Fevicol or any type of really strong adhesive (I get the really tiny ones). I cannot stress how important this is. From personal experience, all I can say is that Fevicol really comes in handy when your sandals/heels break in the middle of the night. When my sandals broke on the middle of the dance floor, it was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. Ever since then, I always carry a little tube of Fevicol in my purse just in case it ever happens again.

9. Powder/compact:  Especially if your skin is on the oily side. This goes without saying but if we’re out dancing or something, we’ll want powder to keep us matte through the night.

10. Bobby Pins and hairbands:  These are definitely amazing when the night is winding down and you just want your hair out of your face.

  1. I always have bobby pins and safety pins in my clutch for all sorts of situations. I would like a add a compact comb to your list.

  2. Fevicol, a must have in clutch.. once my sandal broke in office and I had to treat a frnd in CCD for getting me fevikwick (costing not more than 10rs) 🙁 mere fevikwick na rakhne ka faayda usko hua 😛 😛

  3. I have two things – tissues(ultra handy) and a matte lipstick that can double up as a blush. I’m the no-unnecessary-products kind of girl.

  4. Apart from this mobile, some cash, a credit card, tissue paper are a must. I think we should put these above must have stuff in a lil ziplock pouch so that we can just keep it handy any time and put it in any clutch that we are carrying.
