Actually Shilpa,

This is mainly a stage makeup so a lot of precision and layering is required. You can take bits from it (especially the way Vimi uses the brushes and mixing of gel liner with an eyeshadow ) and do things your own way. :)

You can do things with your own hand- a lot of practice and patience is required. Vimi has more than 10 years of experience in the same field.

Reflex glitter is gorgeous. It’s mostly used for brides (Indian brides).

yeah indian brides and their makeup! reflex glitter is available at pro only, am i right?
you know, talking about glitter, i went to the parlour recently for a wax and as i was waiting i saw a bride who was almost ready, preening in front of the mirror with her sister. she was looking quite pretty and the makeup was just right, but she didn’t look very happy. she whispered something into her sister’s ears who in turn told the makeup artist to “sprinkle” some glitter on the bride’s hair and back. the makeup artist looked horrified! she tried her best to explain that glitter on the hair and back would look way too tacky and that the eyes already had the right amount of shimmer (eyeshadow); but the two women were adamant. the poor lady got a pot of glitter and knocked off a bit on the bride’s hair and back. the sisters asked for more! god, both of them were literally looking like disco balls when they stepped into the sunshine. bleh! see, makeup artists aren’t always to blame for bad bridal makeup!

yeah reflex glitter is a pro product.

I have seen such brides. Infact I was almost horrified once when the bride asked for glitter on her lipstick. They made her choose her glitter and she chose the silver reflex glitter which looked dhin-chaak glittery red on her lips. I mean what??

She was happy though all cham cham for her wedding. Since she was happy so we were also like okay if she likes it. he he

I know what you mean. Vimi is really a master. You always get to learn so much from her. And love the cheeks highlighting technique she taught. :) Did you try that?

hubby gonna address me mad :( :(:(

it was really nice watch … christine too posted a smokey look with blacktrack as base :)

Reply

Rati August 27, 2010 at 7:39 pm

watch it whenever you get time. :)

Yeah blacktrack can be used as a base but Vimi mixed the carbon eyeshadow and blacktrack that would give a better stay to the eyeshadow and would also give that dewy kind of a look. :)
