Green Tea Clay Mask for Oily and Acne-Prone Skin: Do It Yourself

Green Tea Clay Mask for Oily and Acne-Prone Skin: Do It Yourself

Hello Damsels,

I am back with another DIY recipe. This time it is for oily and acne-prone skin.  My skin becomes oily in monsoon because of humidity and it becomes more susceptible to pimples if I do not maintain the balance of my skin texture. So, this recipe will help all other beauties with oily skin like me in battling the acne.

Things you will need:

  • Green tea.
  • Kaolin clay/Fuller’s Earth.
  • Aloe vera.

That’s it. You need only 3 ingredients for this amazing mask.

Ingredients

A bit about ingredients:

Green Tea: Green tea contains loads of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds making it perfect to protect our skin. One of the main benefits it has is the ability to support the process of differentiation and maturation of our keratinocytes, ensuring a strong Stratum corneum (outermost layer of the epidermis) that will protect the more vulnerable layers beneath.

Clay/Fuller’s Earth:  Fuller’s Earth is best for oily skin. It helps you get rid of a lot of skin problems like pimples, tanning, blemishes, etc. Fuller’s earth is a natural absorbent of oil and hence can be used to treat oily skin.

Aloe vera: Aloe moisturizes the skin without giving it a greasy feel, so its perfect for anyone with an oily skin complexion. Aloe vera gel contains two hormones: Auxin and Gibberellins. These two hormones provide wound healing and anti-inflammatory properties that reduce skin inflammation.

So, as you can see all three products are important to treat acne and control oil.

Method:

    • Take a few leaves of green tea and put them into hot steaming water and let the leaves seep in for some time.

  • You can use any commercially available aloe vera gels in the market.
  • Post this mask; use refrigerated aloe vera and green tea toner for best results.

Hope you all liked this DIY 🙂
