This is a product I purchased under the IMBB product scheme.  I spent two hours in Sephora trying to get the right eyeshadow palette with good pigmentation, versatility, and that would go well with my skin tone. I was a little confused between this palette and the one by Tarte, but eventually settled for this one.  More details on this palette in the review below 🙂

My Take on Guerlain Écrin 6 Couleurs Precious Eyeshadows – Boulevard du Montparnasse:

Stores like Sephora and Ulta are heaven for makeup geeks like me and trips to such stores gets even better when one meets nice, informative, and helpful SAs. The one who helped me to get the right palette was really pretty and sweet; she took me around the store and swatched several eyeshadows for me and helped me narrow it down to this particular palette.

Packaging: Most of the expensive palettes do not come in plastic cases, but rather in thick cardboard cases that are eco-friendly and very pretty, but the one by Guerlain goes a notch up and comes in a beautiful metal case. This particular one has a very pretty flower pattern with mesh design on the cover and the inside has another plastic flip cover which doubles up as a mirror as well.

Texture:  Pressed shadows that feel like powder shadows because they do have bit of fallout. They have soft texture with a matte finish except the pink color in the center which imparts a pretty satin finish. The shadows are easy to blend, easily buildable, and are perfect to recreate different eye makeup looks.

Color (clockwise from top left corner):

1:  Brightening shade – pale lavender with pink undertones. It sounds like a cool-toned shade which still looks pretty on my skin tone.
2: Dull purple color with brown undertones which is perfect for creating warm smokey eye look.
3: Dark wine color with warm undertones and can be used for smokey look or to smudge out khol.

4. Rosy brown shade with satin finish, it has average color payoff and not obviously visible on my skin tone.
5. It is like the previous shade, but a bit lighter compared to it and has more purple in it than pink.
6. This shade is the only one which imparts a satin-shimmer finish and is a really pretty pink color which can find multiple uses – can be used on lids or brow bone or tear duct to make eyes appear brighter and bigger.

Staying Power:  Entire day or till it is removed, does not smudge or transfer and needs a good makeup remover to get it off.

This is a very pretty palette and comes in 5 different assortments of colors and even though these palettes are a bit expensive, it’s worth the splurge.

• Blends like a dream.
• Stays on for a long time.
• Available in 5 shades.

Cons of Guerlain Écrin 6 Couleurs Precious Eyeshadows – Boulevard du Montparnasse Eyeshadow Palette:

• Expensive.
• A couple of shades have a bit less color payoff compared to others.
• Availability might be an issue for some.

Would I Recommend Guerlain Écrin 6 Couleurs Precious Eyeshadows – Boulevard du Montparnasse Eyeshadow Palette?
I do recommend this palette to all of you out there who wouldn’t mind spending 93 on this pretty palette.
