My Experience with Guerlain Le 2 de Guerlain Two Brush Mascara
I have not used many double wand mascaras but I surely have used Guerlain mascaras in past and had quite a great experience with them. This mascara was quite an interesting pick considering this had separate wand for upper and bottom lashes.
This Guerlain mascara comes packed in this gorgeous gold finish tube. It’s a very interesting shape – think of a wrapped toffee but in a sleek geometric form. 😀 The ends of the mascara are kept sleek making it very comfortable to hold and use.
One end of the mascara has a brush for upper lashes. It is a round sleek brush with very short bristles. It helps in coating every single lash. Plus it gives a lovely separated look to the lashes- very finished and refined. I feel since the brush is small you can really go all in to the roots of the lashes, give a nice wiggle and give a nice curl to the lashes with the wand itself. It adds a nice finish to the lashes but I do not find it mind-blowingly lengthening or volumizing. It gives a very polished and chic look to the lashes without being too dramatic.
The lower lash mascara is a tint little wand with a little bent. It does an extremely fine job at coating the lower lashes and gets even the tiny little ones that a regular wand might not get hold of.
Noir is a very black mascara and I love the intensity of it. The mascara does not feather or smudge and holds up the curl beautifully all day long. It also does not feel crunchy or heavy on the lashes. Taking it off is a bit of a task. I always have to go over my lashes 3-4 times to get rid of last bits from my lashes. Just like all Guerlain mascaras, this is also a perfumed mascara. You don’t smell it until you really sniff the wand. And it is a very nice fragrance I must say. Although, not required. That said, it has never caused any irritation or sensitivity to my lashes.
I like it but I like my mascaras to give me lots of oomph and drama. This is nice but I want more.
If you are looking for a very good mascara that you could wear everyday without it looking to dramatic, this could be your holy-grail. There is absolutely no clumping with this mascara.
Overall, a good one but not the one for me.
