I am back with another lip crayon from Hard Candy. This is from their “All Glossed Up” lip stain range and the shade that I am reviewing today is called “Red Minx.” Read on to find out more.

Product Description:
Get glossy with Hard Candy All Glossed Up Hydrating Lip Stain. It’s an amazing, super-shiny, cushiony lip gloss infused with the super-staying power of a stain. Pigments and stains are bathed in a silky-smooth, non-drying silicone base that leaves lips feeling soft and supple all day. A retractable pencil with special mold design lines lips and accentuates your pout. Add a hint of tint all day with All Glossed Up.

My Experience with Hard Candy Red Minx All Glossed Up Hydrating Lip Stain:

Packaging: This lip stain comes in the standard lip crayon packaging. The tube is a red shade which matches with the shade of the lipstick and the base is silver.

The cap shuts tight and is opaque. It has a retractable mechanism which makes it easy to use. No sharpening is needed which means no product is wasted. But the lipstick does not swivel down completely and part of the lipstick remains exposed. This makes it prone to accidental nicking.  Since the product is in a lip crayon format, it is easy to apply on the Cupid’s bow and corners of the lips.

Shade/Pigmentation:  “Red Minx” is a lovely watermelon red. It is a pretty color which instantly adds brightness to the face. Since, this is a glossy lip product, it is not highly pigmented and your natural lip color peeps through a bit, but it does add a nice red sheen to your lips and thus makes it an option for those who are scared to wear a full on highly pigmented red lipstick.

Texture/Finish/Lasting Power:  The lip stain feels and applies like a balm. It applies smoothly without any tugging and feels very lightweight on the lips. The finish is glossy but nothing too shiny or in your face.

The lipstick does not feel drying, but I don’t think it is overtly hydrating either as marketed. The lipstick transfers and wears off in around 3-4 hours, but it does leave behind a pretty reddish pink stain. The stain stays put for almost 8+ hours, but at the end of the day, it fades and leaves an unsightly reddish ring around your lips. You surely need a makeup remover to remove it.

Cons of Hard Candy Red Minx All Glossed Up Hydrating Lip Stain:

• As the lipstick stain fades, it leaves an unsightly reddish ring around the lips.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Hard Candy Red Minx All Glossed Up Hydrating Lip Stain?
I would recommend it if you like lightweight glossy lip products.  I will not repurchase the exact same color but will try other shades from the range.
