Herbal Essences Naked Volume Conditioner Review

I reviewed Herbal Essences Naked Volume Shampoo some time back and I loved it. I am still using it as my hair needs more care now especially after using the Proganix Smooth Shampoo which did nothing to smoothen my hair 🙁 Today, I have got the Herbal Essences Naked Volume Conditioner for you. According to Herbal Essences, the “naked” line of hair care products are made with a formula that does not have any heavy residues, parabens, silicones and dyes.  This makes this their most “natural” product in their hair care range. Let us see if this one gets similar brownie points as the shampoo did.

My Experience with Herbal Essences Naked Volume Conditioner:

The conditioner comes in a tall white-colored bottle which has graphics of mint leaves over it and totally complements the shampoo bottle. However, the packaging is pretty plain unlike the usual colorful packing for other ranges from Herbal Essences.  The bottle is opaque, so you would not know the quantity remaining in the bottle. The cap has a push-down nozzle, similar to the ones we get with Bath and Body Works body lotion and like the one which comes with shampoo from the same range. Overall, the packaging is simple, no frills attached and sturdy. But the bottle is huge to be taken along while traveling. However, a travel-sized pack of 50 ml is also available.

I am a huge fan of the fragrance. It is just awesome and I LOVE it. It has a refreshing citrusy-minty fragrance. It smells really fresh and clean due to white grapefruit and mint extracts. I love the scent. It stays on for the whole day in my hair and I received compliments for it too. My hair smells awesome the whole day. Also, I notice slight fragrance if I sniff my hair closely, even on the next day.

The conditioner is white in color and the consistency is creamy and normal, not extremely thick.  But I am not so impressed with the conditioner as much as I am with the shampoo. It is just an okay product. My hair didn’t react too well to it. 🙁 It did make my hair soft and smooth, but not too much. It doesn’t perk up my limp hair too much. In fact, I feel that it negates the shampoo’s volumizing effect. I have dry hair and oily scalp and I normally wash my hair every alternate day. Where shampoo gives me an additional day, this conditioner makes my hair limp and dull on the next day itself. 🙁 And with thin and fine hair that I have, I really don’t like the conditioners that weigh my hair down.

I bought this product since I loved the shampoo from the same range, but this conditioner didn’t work as expected. 🙁 I have the shampoo, so I thought that if I use the conditioner from the same range, I might work as mentioned in product description.

Pros of Herbal Essences Naked Volume Conditioner:

• Paraben, silicone and colorant free.
• Nice and refreshing smell.
• Fragrance stays in my hair for the whole day.
• Comes in travel size as well.
• Doesn’t leave any residue in hair.

Cons of Herbal Essences Naked Volume Conditioner:

• Made my hair greasy the next day itself.
• Does not give any volume to my hair.
• At times I need to wash my hair next day itself.
• Weighs my hair down.
• A long list of chemicals in the ingredients.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Herbal Essences Naked Volume Conditioner?

Though it’s really good that Herbal Essences is trying to make paraben-free products, but this conditioner at least, it’s not working as expected. I really don’t like conditioners that weigh hair down, so I will not be repurchasing this one, but I still like the shampoo and would continue to use that.
