Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Conditioner
Curly-haired people in India do not have much choice with shampoos and conditioners. Most of the shampoos and conditioners available in India are targeted towards achieving either straight long hair or straight long hair!! Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Conditioner is the first hair product that I have come across that claims to have been exclusively designed for curly/wavy hair.
Since, this was exclusively labelled as for curly/wavy hair, I had high expectations from it, please read on to find how it fared on my expectations!!sigh!!

My Take on Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curls and Waves Conditioner:
I was quite happy that I had found the perfect conditioner for my hair type. I actually wanted a shampoo from Totally Twisted, but then it was not available, and I had to pick up the conditioner instead. The conditioner comes in a huge wave-shaped 340 g bottle. It comes with a press-down green lid that you have to press down on one side to get shampoo from a small opening on the other side.
Despite claiming to have wild cherry twist and something called Jewel Orchid :stars: :stars: , the conditioner smells really weird, I mean I was kind of taken aback by the weird smell, but then this conditioner was specifically for my hair and I had to try it. I paired the conditioner with my regular L’oreal repair shampoo and kept the conditioner on my hair for around 10 minutes. After rinsing the conditioner off my hair, I could feel that my hair was indeed smooth.
After I had air dried my hair, I could see that there was no frizz in my hair as such, but I was a little disappointed too because my hair tends to curl up into tight curls on the first day that I wash my hair and subsequently thereafter, it gets looser and gets wavy by the third day, but with this conditioner, I had loose and limp curls.
This conditioner did not give me the effect that I was expecting I would have, but nevertheless, my hair was frizz free and smooth.
By the second day, my hair had become flat and completely flaccid and by the third day, there was no go than washing my hair again because it was looking very flat.
So, I would like to say that this conditioner that is specifically designed for curly/wavy hair does not actually add bounce to curls, but “tames” them and clears the frizz out. I am actually undecided about this conditioner because even though I would like a no-frizz hair, at the same time, I would have preferred tighter curls with bounce.

- A conditioner specifically designed for curly and wavy hair.
- Detangles hair nicely.
- Smooths out all frizziness.
- Adds a bit of a shine to the hair.
- Tames down the curls and waves.
- Price is good for the quantity provided.
Cons of Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curls and Waves Conditioner:
- I don’t know what Jewel Orchid and Wild Cherry Twist is, but whatever that is, the conditioner smells very weird.
- It does not “define” curls, this conditioner “tames” the curls and waves.
- The curls/waves turn somewhat flaccid with this conditioner and fall flat after the first day of wash.
- Does weigh down hair.
- Need to wash the hair frequently.
- Does not make the curls bouncy.
Will I Buy Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curls and Waves Conditioner Again:
I am undecided yet, I have to finish this bottle to decide, but I would go with the logic that “something is better than nothing,” at least, there is a conditioner that is specifically for my hair type, so I am still undecided.
Would I Recommend:
I would recommend this conditioner to only those who have curls and wavy hair with extreme frizz, but those who like their curls to be bouncy and happy, not for you.
