Himalaya Anti-Hairfall Hair Oil – Review

Himalaya Anti-Hairfall Hair Oil – Review

BY SHAI S.

Hello gorgeous people!

This is my first post on IMBB – I hope you like it! Let me introduce myself first. You can call me Shai. I’m an animation student from Ahmedabad, and have finally after 21 long years grown out of my tomboy childhood to start caring properly for my skin and hair! 😀 I love music and reading, and my favourite designer is Alexander McQueen 😉

For my first review, I picked a product I have stuck with for a long time. Himalaya anti hair fall oil:

Himalaya Anti-hairfall hair oil

First of all, my hair has become really weak and limp since I came to Ahmedabad 🙁 the water is extremely chlorinated and I guess you all know what mess food does to one’s diet! I try to keep as healthy as I can but still within a month I lose at least a few KGs of weight and my hair has become rather weak and damaged. Thus I have been on the hunt for the perfect hair oil since very long! Does this oil prove itself to my tresses?

Price:

Rs. 100 for 100 ml

What it claims:

Anti hair-fall hair oil prevents hair fall and stimulates hair growth. Contains bhringaraja and amalaki, proven hair growth promoters. Methi, which is rich in lecithin and proteins that nourish the hair roots. Neem and bilva prevent scalp infections and keep hair healthy.

A non-sticky oil that can be applied daily. Hypoallergenic. No harmful chemicals. Store in a cool and dry place.

Directions:

I prefer to apply it on my scalp and hair and leave overnight, washing it off the next morning. If I can’t, I do try to let it soak in my scalp for at least two hours or so. I also find that massaging my scalp keeps both my hair and mind very happy! Massaging your head is a great way to relax, and the improved blood circulation in your roots means your hair will love you as long as you are regular with it 🙂 I try to massage for a minimum of 15-20 minutes!

My Verdict on Himalaya Anti-Hairfall Hair Oil :

As I said before, I have been loving this oil for quite some time now, though you might notice it has changed slightly! Pretty much the same product was being sold as “Revitalising hair oil” by Himalaya till some time back and now is an anti-hair fall product. It also got a little costlier. In my opinion, though, all of that is secondary to the quality of the product itself. Let me tell you what I think about it.

The oil, YES, ladies, does at least part of what it claims! Now as I have mentioned, the extent of damage to my hair was nightmarish. 🙁 When I started using this oil, though, my hair gradually started becoming stronger and less breakable. When I say gradually, I mean it took 5-7 overnight applications followed by shampoo next day. As nothing was working on my hairfall and I was contemplating what it would be like to live life without hair on my head – not Parachute coconut oil, not jasmine oil, not Vatika oil, not Parachute hot oil, nothing worked!! – I cannot tell you the extent of relief I had when this hair oil finally started reducing my hair breakage. The quality of the hair has become better too. My thick, lustrous hair had become very limp and fine! But it is now growing back thicker, the individual strands are thicker too, and there are much fewer split ends now with regular usage 🙂 I strongly urge you to just try this hair oil once with whatever treatments you are undertaking for your hair fall!

There might be a downside in the form of its fragrance, for some people. The methidana smell is a little strong, and while I don’t mind it, it might seem a little weird. Also, it is pretty strongly oily and thus you can’t leave it in your hair when you go out! Super greasy alert 🙂 As a pre-wash conditioning treatment, I absolutely love this oil and you should try it too!

Summing up:

Pros of Himalaya Anti-Hairfall Hair Oil:

• Stops hair fall!
• Herbal – no chemicals
• Trusted major brand that is also easy on the pocket.
• Does stop hair fall!
• Repairs hair quality.
• Repair damage over time.
• Did I say stops hair fall?

Cons of Himalaya Anti-Hairfall Hair Oil:

• Smell might be strong
• Leaves hair greasy and must be washed out
• … But virtually none. Really. 😀

Repurchase value:

Well, I have been sticking with this for a few years. So till I find a better hair oil, I will love to buy this slow-and-steady winner again 🙂

IMBB Rating:

6/5! Extra kisses for this one :*

  1. Welcome to imbb… love the intro… it seems like a great product acc to u.. But will it work on people with all kinds of hairfall?? i mean those wid pcos r thyroid???

    1. Hi Nats! 🙂
Wow, I’m really not sure about that! Never actually consulted a doctor for problems that might cause hairfall.. Of course buying hair oil that the doctors themselves prescribe for your condition might be the best course, but since this is purely herbal and anti-allergenic, I am sure it would be safe enough to give it a try 🙂 Hormonal imbalance and such are internal problems though, and this hair oil is purely a surface-based product, as in, acts only externally on the scalp and hair!
Hope I make sense to you :*

  2. gonna get this sooper fast… coz i am in the mission of preventing my post pregnancy hairfall, before it starts… Thankyou very much for the review 🙂 ….
