My Take on Himalaya Herbals Protein Shampoo:

Himalaya Herbals products have been researched clinically and standardized to guarantee bioequivalence. Bioequivalence refers to ensuring that the product on the market is equivalent to the one on which clinical trials were successfully conducted. Himalaya Herbal Healthcare uses chromatographic fingerprinting, one of the most sophisticated standardization techniques, to ensure consistent quality and performance.

I basically like experimenting with different brands, something which is not at all recommended by hair care specialists. To date, I have used brands like Sunsilk, Pantene Pro-V, L’Oreal, & Head & Shoulders. However, though many of these brands are good, I switched to this shampoo as I have never tried any herbal brands for hair care. As this shampoo is herbal, naturally, it’s a lot better than all those other products full of chemicals. I found Himalaya Protein Shampoo to satisfy many criterion that I was looking for.

Sometimes I even have to wash my hair on consecutive days and regularly shampooing gives me only hairfall, excessive drying or frizziness, but now, I like the fact that I can use this shampoo everyday since it’s a mild gentle shampoo. Even I noticed that it not only controlled my hair fall, but also improved the quality of hair; after washing, hair feels healthier and thicker.

Although the application made my hair a little drier, but I solved that by using a bit of a heavy conditioner. I am very sure that my hair fall has definitely reduced. The shampoo bottle looks good with its cute shape and green lid. The smell of the shampoo is very good, it freshens you up. (I heard that most of Himalaya’s products smell the same, but I don’t know about this, in fact, I like this mild smell).

Another nice thing about this product is that it is safe to use on artificially colored or permed hair. This shampoo will be great to wash your hair after you have them colored. I use L’Oreal hair Color to color my hair and this shampoo is great to wash my hair right after I rinse the color off.

I have only one doubt about this product, as it claims to be a protein shampoo, no idea about that. Just hoping that the  protein part might be working up there somewhere!!!

Pros:

1) Mild herbal product, so it’s a lot better than other products full of chemicals.
2) Safe to use on colored or permed hair.
2) Controls hair fall.
3) Effectively removes dirt and oil from hair.
4) Not too pricey, affordable.
5) Smells good.

Cons:

1) It is not moisturizing, It tangles the hair a lot and makes them dry, but using a conditioner solves the problem.
2) Requires a good quantity for one wash, doesn’t lather much on the first wash, requires at least a second wash.
3) It claims to keep the hair soft and silky, well without following it up with a conditioner, this claim seems to be a false one.

Final Verdict:

Overall, in spite of all the cons, I am pretty satisfied with the product. As this works well for me, as it does the essential job of cleaning my hair without causing any hairfall and keeps my hair bouncy and voluminous for days. If you feel it dries out your hair, just team it up with oil before shampooing and a good conditioner later on. That will definitely solve the dryness problem and the main thing is basically I am using this product because I believe it to have lesser chemicals than the others!!!

    1. ya thats strong, but i think that strongness factor helps me to remove oil and dirt. and about the smell…..what to say…… i find it something made from herbal products like some leaves or some herbs and if you keen user chemical products with soft sweet fragrances then obviously you don’t like this strong smell!!

  1. It wasn’t mild on my scalp…had an itchy scalp that lasted until I changed my shampoo…It made my hair dry and didn’t get rid of the oil on my scalp. 😥 😥 😥
But my brother uses this and he simply loves it!! :dumb: :dumb:
    Great review!

    1. Thnx, i also got my hair dried after using this shampoo, that can be considered as one of the main cons of this shampoo, but any how i use it when want to get rid from all the chemical products :))

    1. That may be possible, actually it didnt work for my sister, she also got her hair very frizzy and dry after using it 🙁

  2. Oh, I HATED this one. It didn’t remove the oil properly and made my hair all rough and frizzy. Guess it works differently on different people. :struggle:

    1. ya that may be possible. There may be variations in results according to type of skin and hair of people. it made my hairs also dry, but i am using bit high conditioner for overcoming this problem!!! :rose: :rose: :rose:

  3. HI…i’ve been a regular reader of this blog for quite some time now and the product reviews have been very helpful..thanks!

  4. i go through the same issues, exact same.. it makes my hair feel healthier, shinier, but messes them up so bad..and i swear by it esp for when i have hairfall issues.

  5. Worked for me as I always use a heavy dose of conditoner…like it because it does not contain SLS like all other major brands available.
