Hip Hop Skin Care Facial Wax Strips Review

Hip Hop Skin Care Facial Wax Strips Review

Facial hair is a nightmarish problem for females.  We try as many methods possible to get rid of facial hair like bleaching, waxing, threading and advanced methods such as electrolysis and laser.  In my search for a solution to get rid of facial hair, I came across Hip Hop Facial Wax Strips.

Hip Hop Skin Care Facial Wax Strips Review

I was familiar with hair removing strips from Veet which are used for removing hair from the body. Hip Hop designed these strips specifically for facial hair and I like that part. A wax strip which is specially made for face might be gentle and effective and that was my expectation with this product.

Rs.40

How To Use and Ingredients List:

How To Use

Product Description:

  • Most convenient, easiest & safest way to get rid of unwanted hair from small & crucial areas of the face.
  • Hygienically packed – 6 double sided wax strips, no stickiness, no mess.
  • Ready to use wax strips, removes hair from the root unlike conventional wax or hair removing cream.
  • Can be used on upper lip, chin, forehead, cheeks. Cut the strip with scissor according to the area to be waxed.
  • Same strip can be used 2 to 3 times during waxing, depending on the skin type. (for oily skin – 1 to 2 times, for dry skin 2 to 3 times).

My Experience with Hip Hop Skin Care Facial Wax Strips:

This is the first ever facial wax product that I have used, so I can’t compare it with anything I know, but I can relate it to Veet wax strips in general. Facial wax is becoming very common these days and wax strips provide a very handy and mess-free option for removal of hair.  The first time when I used it, I was amazed by the results. I never knew I had so many tiny hairs on my face.

Facial wax

This product works quite effectively, though not 100%, but surely 90%. It did remove hair from my chin, cheeks and forehead, but the result when applied on the nose was not so satisfactory and that’s not a big issue when it’s so effective in other areas.

The wax strip gives a little pain when pulled against the direction of hair growth, but the pain is negligible compared to threading. These packets also contain a after depil towelette to remove traces of wax. I found it too moisturizing, so I wash my face immediately after using this towelette to prevent any breakout.

Issues with using wax strips on the face are that it can make skin sag sooner, since the skin gets pulled when we use these wax strips. It gives me a kind of stretchy feeling after using the strip.  So, I have reserved these strips only for emergencies. I also use a good toner after this waxing session, so that pores won’t get enlarged. Though they claim that one strip can be used 2 to 3 times, I use one strip only once.

Summing up its pros and cons.

Pros of Hip Hop Skin Care Facial Wax Strips:

  • Its effective in removing facial hair.
  • It won’t take much time, plus going to a beautician is also not needed.
  • One packet is enough for one-time use covering the complete face.
  • It is very cheap, Rs. 40 for a pack of facial wax strips is highly affordable.
  • No parabens.
  • Hip Hop products are not tested on animals.

Cons of Hip Hop Skin Care Facial Wax Strips:

  • It won’t make your face 100% hair free  (it is 90% effective though).
  • I am not sure if waxing the face is a good option, because the skin may lose its elasticity easily after regular waxing.
  • I can’t find any other cons with this product. It’s a good and cheap option to remove facial hair.

Would I Repurchase Hip Hop Skin Care Facial Wax Strips:

I have already purchased 3 more packets.

Would I Recommend Hip Hop Skin Care Facial Wax Strips:

Yes, it’s a cheap and effective product for removing facial hair.

    Great review,Visakhi! :thanks:

  11. I had to go to the beautician for waxing upperlip and chin every 2 weeks or 3, for 30rs charge. But they wax and clean up the remaining hair with threading which isn’t great and might speed up hair growth. Once I saw that they had moved to these hiphop facial wax strips from the usual wax tin and they charged 30 for one strip, and 60 if 2 strips were used! Damn! That’s not great. I went online and bought 2 boxes for 42 rupees/box of 6×2 strips then. And it lasted for months! I have ordered next 4 boxes. It’s very pocket friendly for college kids like me.
To those for whom this didn’t work:
Washing the face with a face wash that clears off oil very well and then using the strip surely makes it super effective. I use it only on upper lip and chin areas. Using talc on the parts before waxing with these seems to make it work less. Drying the area well with a dry towel after washing with oil clearing facewash is better. I have dry skin and sometimes oily but I use the oil clearing facewash only for waxing with this stuff.

If u use the wax strip repeatedly over an area at once, the skin peels off and gives a sore patch of redness which becomes brown next morning by healing. 😀 which is worse than hair. My lips got hurt once (that might look a bit gross if you have a boyfriend or if u are married, lol…) , my chin and also upper lip. So avoiding stripping stripping stripping again at a time. 😀 but instead make sure the concerned area is oil free and dry, so one or two times of stripping is effective. The after depil towelettes with it are to remove the wax only. Then it has to be washed off. Also ice the waxed area well. Or wash with cold water. 🙂
This product is so far great for me as I have hair growth because of PCOD and am under homeopathic treatment. So only a physical method can be used. And not any chemical or medical applications.
Happy facial hair free life! 😀

  12. You said this is the first time u used a facial waxstrip ,can you please tell us normally how do you you remove facial hair .I have facial hair and growth is more near my jaw line, cheeks.Iam acne prone too. so can you please suggest a safe method of removing facial hair?.Thanks . 🙂

  13. I will never use Hip Hop facial waxing stripes again. I am very careful when waxing my face. I have usedthe veet stripes and on my face and had good results. But every time I use Hip Hop my skin gets burnt and this leaves ugly scars. I had mailed the company who promised to look into the issue but I did not hear from them. I have used these stripes on 3 occasions with the same painful and ugly result.
