Hiphop Salt and Sugar Gel Face Wash Review

Hello sweeties,
Long back I reviewed the Hiphop salt and sugar scrub and now I am up with the face wash. I have a habit of buying the face wash and scrub together if available because that without any doubt gives the best results. I have never really tried this combo because I wasn’t even aware that this would be beneficial to the skin. Now that I know, I would like to try these in their raw forms too, but as of now here is the review.

Price: Rs 90 for 120 ml

Product Description:
Traditionally, salt & sugar are the only effective source of washing as it is simple, gentle and purest form of cleansing. Hiphop has combined traditional and modern science and developed a “salt & sugar face wash with micellar water”. It is a natural salt & sugar based face wash which actively removes toxins, clears the skin, controls sebum, smoothens skin and improves the tone with miniaturization. It also improves skin texture by reducing dry & rough skin. Deep cleans, removes make-up/ water proof make-up & impurities that dull the skin. It is suitable for all types of skin.

My Experience with Hiphop Salt and Sugar Gel Face Wash:

The hip hop face wash looks exactly like the scrub as their packaging is the same. They are just replaced with the names “face wash” and “face scrub”. The tube is of medium size which makes it very easy to carry during travels. Also the cap is a flip open one which closes with a click, hence no scope of the tube squeezing inside the hand-bag. The price is also very reasonable since most of the drugstore face washes come at that price. The hole in the cap lets out the perfect quantity needed for one-time use.

The gel wash is super thick and rightly to be called gel wash because the consistency is very heavy and gooey. It looks more of a peel-off mask. It has a mild aqua scent which is very pleasing and lasts till the time I am cleansing my face and then fades away. The gel does lather up a bit but does not turn foamy at all like the other face washes. The gel is very gentle on the skin and it feels more like a massage gel which you can easily massage up to 5 minutes. It clears all the sebum from my face and cleans the impurities as well. It does not clear the pores because I think the formula is too gentle to do that. It does make my skin look very fresh and lively and looks pretty much free from all dirt. Yes, it does smoothen out the surface of my skin and the dry areas feel smoother after using this as they seem to vanish away.

It does not give me any added moisturisation but it does not make my skin dry either. I do feel that my skin turns a bit stretchy but that is because of the weather and not the face wash’s formula. So technically we can say that it does not dry out the skin. It removes light makeup say a foundation, BB cream and a blush and some lip colour. But it isn’t effective on the waterproof formula since the gel liners are very stubborn. Also, I wouldn’t dare to rub it on my eyes because this stuff contains a lot of chemicals which might just harm my already weak eyes. This will not show any long-term results and will just work for every-day cleansing. It is a very decent one if you are looking out for a regular face wash since the best part is that it does not dry out my combination skin.

Will I Recommend/Repurchase Hiphop Salt and Sugar Gel Face Wash?
Yes I would recommend it if you are looking for a decent face wash. Wouldn’t come back to it because this is a just a regular face wash.

Conclusion:
Hiphop is certainly an under-estimated brand but it does deliver whatever it claims and what more would we want?
