I have been searching for curling irons for quite a long time now, but none have proved impressive enough to convince me to buy them.  I have had a look at Conair, Babyliss curling iron, and then I zeroed in on 24K Gold Hot Tools – that sounds luxurious, isn’t it? Please read on to know more about this curling iron.

Packaging:

The packaging is pretty sleek as it does not come in a conventional cardboard box. The transparent box lets one see the product in the box which is shining gold with a black grip handle.

My Experience with Hot Tools 24K Gold Salon Curling Iron:

I had wanted to own a good curling iron, just to have a change in my hairstyle because sometimes I am so bored of seeing myself the same way 😛 Although I am more of a “straight hair” person, I do like volume curls and tie high pony tails.  I had seen a few curling irons and wands prior to buying this, but somehow was not comfortable with wands as I am quite sure I will burn my fingers or ears 😀

The most striking feature about this curling iron is the bright gold color because the barrel is coated with 24K gold…yeah!! The brand says that it heats up faster and distributes heat evenly.  I have fine hair and this iron adds a lot of volume curls to my hair in just 2-3 seconds. I do agree that the gold coating is better in heating with minimum damage to the hair.  This iron adds shine to the curls and the knob kind of switch for heat setting is something I really like.

I prefer clamp in my curling iron because that lends me more control on my hair, so this acts just right.  I opted for this particular barrel size because this gives me smooth, natural, loose curls – just the way I want.  There’s barrel sizes till 2 inches that would make waves and even tight ringlets – there’s choice for everyone. I use the Pureology Color Fanatic Spray for protecting my hair before I use the iron.

Once done, the curls remain intact for 4-5 hours without any hair spray, but using a hairs pray prolongs the life of the curls.  The best part about the curling iron is the multiple adjustable heat settings that lets you curl each section in one go so that you don’t have to go over it again and again.  The box also comes with two spare springs for the clamp, I am glad they thought so much. The handle and the rubberized grip work perfectly too.
