How to Highlight Your Face Shape Like A Pro

A while ago, I wrote about ‘How to Apply Blush According to Your Face Cut‘, and ‘Step-by-Step Guide to Contour According to Face Shape‘. Today I am going to explain you all how to highlight your face shape, just like pros. If you want to find out, keep reading!

Oblong Face

Apply the highlighter to the under eye area, halfway down the bridge of your nose, cheekbones, centre of your forehead, brow bone and chin. If you want to make your eyes look bigger and wider, apply a little bit of highlighter in the inner corners of your eyes.

Square Face

Apply the highlighter to the bridge of your nose, just above the cheekbones, to the centre of your forehead and inner corners of the eyes. Dust cheekbones with some blush, but only do a light coating as too much will accentuate your jawline and the angles of your face.

Round Face

Apply highlighter to the brow bone, the entire eyelid, bridge of the nose and cheekbones. Highlight the centre of the face as much as possible in order to draw attention to the middle of your face instead of roundness of your jaw line.

Oval Face

Oval face is considered to be the most beautiful face cut. Apply the highlighter just above your lips, above your cheekbones and on your eyelids. Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks (in between the contouring and highlighting strips).

Heart Shape

Apply the highlighter or the foundation/concealer that’s two-three shades lighter than your skin tone to the bridge of your nose, above your lips, just above your cheekbones and under the eyes to eliminate the bagging eye. Don’t forget your chin as it’s important to make it a little round.
