My Cute Haul and Indian Makeup and Beauty Updates

I was running short of some of my essentials so I thought I’d pick these up. :) Blossom Kochhar Almond Under Eye Cream: Since I keep giving away my tubes to my mom, I had to buy one for myself.  I already have my Fab India Under Eye Gel which does nothing more than cooling my under eye area, I needed this one. :)

Lotus Herbals Safe Sun Sunblock Cream SPF 30: I have been using Lotus sunscreens for years and I keep coming back to them one after the other. This one says Indian Summer Formula. What else do I want? :) I wanted to buy the sunscreen spray that HD once mentioned about but couldn’t find that so I purchased this one.

Lotus Herbals Vanilla Lip Therapy (Rs 95):My friends and I have been great fan of Lotus lip balms during our college days. Favorite being the orange.  I thought I’d pick one up once again after so many years. It also has SPF -15 ta-da  But they have become expensive now, we used to buy these for 40-50 bucks back then. :(

And application is hardly the key jomol… that just involves pressing your waterline down so that it shows and you can line it :-)) Rati the guru does it in all videos :-D

Invest in a nice kajal… I find that the herbal ones smudge a lot. I use the MAC smolder pencil but a cheap and great alternative is streetwear :-))

Sorry Rati, I’m giving faltoo advice on your blog! :-P

MAC smoulder doesn’t smudge on your eyes? The teddy kohl that I have, doesn’t.And I am no guru. he he :P

Reply

Rati May 17, 2010 at 10:44 pm

I know, we’ll get some diet chips and diet coke. :D And we’ll munch and gossip. :D Applying kajal is pretty easy. As Ki said I use it in all my videos. I don’t pull my underarea down,i just lightly press it inside. This way you are able to see your water line and aply kajal. To set it either I apply colorbar black eye pencil n my lash line or apply a black eyeshadow underneath. This keeps my kajal unsmudged for long. Although I would say that I am lucky that as it is kajal does not smudge on my eyes too much.

Ki lol!!! You took the away key seat. :D

nice Haul Rati, I want the eye cream too, have’nt been able to locate a place that sells nearby tho.. so I bought the lotus eye gel, I also bought the kajal, I really like it coz its a black black and doesnt smudge my eyes (at least for 4-5 hrs), I wanted to get the lip balm but I forgot, sigh!
I also bought the Kama cleanser you recommended, I love it but I use it like gold coz its rather expensive for that quantity :-D, Im thinking Ill get the body cleanser next time too..lets see..not sure how much that is tho

Reply

Rati May 18, 2010 at 2:55 pm

Hi Renuca:

oh wow! :) I also love my kama cleanser. It is so natural and it removes all my black heads and dead skin. How is the lotus eye gel? I also found that Lotus kajal smudges the least among all the kajals that I have tried so far. It feels good when you guys buy the products that i recommend and also like it. :)

Kama body cleanser is for Rs 275 200 ml

we Indian girls are so addicted to kajal no? :)

Reply

Renuca May 18, 2010 at 3:16 pm

well, what can I say Rati? ur a go-to person for makeup and skincare now.. especially for stay-at-home mommies like me who do not have the luxury of time or money to spend on exploring the cosmetic jungle out there ;-) … ur a blessing :)

I have just started using the eye gel over the weekend so cant really comment, but it feels good on the eyes.. and I only bought it coz lotus’s other pdts reviewed here were recommended so I figured it shd be good too..lets see

have u tried the kama body cleanser too? thx for letting me know the price :-)

Reply

Rati May 18, 2010 at 3:25 pm

 Do let me know how you find the gel. I am currently using fab india gel, which is kinda okayish. After I finish this up I am going to pick either Blossom Kochhar under eye gel or lotus. So you have good 15-20 days to give your updates. :)

I haven’t used the kama body cleanser yet. I have some bath and body products to finish up already buy i have my eyes on it already. :P

sush May 18, 2010 at 3:39 pm

ladies i have a question. ?:-)

wat is the best way to wipe out the kajal.every time i try to do so i end up with dark circles around my eyes. i tried wit almond oil too bt didn’t help much, :-((

If any boby have a better idea kindly suggest…. :hypnotized:

Reply

Rati May 18, 2010 at 4:00 pm

olive oil + rose water. then wash your eyes with water and gently swipe the cotton swab on your eyes. It cleanses every last bit of your eye makeup. :)

Gr8 haul!!!! u didnt find that spray??? strange…my spray is abt to get over and I was thinking shud I re-buy lotus or try some other sunscreen….u have any better alternative?

I m loving the Lotus kajal….its soo cooling for the eyes and the lip balm too….I have in cherry so it gives a nice pink tint to the lips too…..at times I just apply that, no lipstick and it looks nice :-)

Reply

Rati May 19, 2010 at 7:22 pm

No I didn’t get that spray. :( I don’t know about the alternative. I keep coming back to these. I have used some other sunscreens in past and other than getting sunburns I have got nothing else. :( So I keep coming back to Lotus only because It suits me pretty well. You may try Blossom Kochhar Sunblock SPF 50.

I love the Kajal, it’s my HG. And loving the lip balms also. They are so moisturizing. :) The vanilla one is not super yummy buy it has a nice subtle flavour to it and now I want to explore the full range he he. Will pick up cherry and chocolate. :-D

Reply

HD May 19, 2010 at 7:26 pm

hmm….Guess will try BK for a change…I was abt to buy chocolate but liked the shade of cherry and I am kinda fed up of browns so didnt buy chocolate

Reply

Rati May 19, 2010 at 7:30 pm

oh!! I have also shifted away big time from browns. Pinks and peaches are tempting me these days. Btw I bought the Khadi rose water annd it kind of smells fake to me. I dunno but I liked fab india better. :)

Hey do you know if all the ingredients in the lip therapy are safe? Or where I can get all teh ingredients??? I searched everywhere online and now the only other choice I have is to contact the lotus people on the website and ask them.
Thanks :)
