Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Foam Review

By Ghazal Ghauri

Hello dear friends,

This is my first post and I am so excited to share my review with all of you, as I believe sharing is caring. Innisfree is the first Korean brand which I tried. This brand is well known for using natural ingredients and being eco-friendly. I really liked it, so got this cleanser plus some other products like the Innisfree Wine Peeling Jelly Softener. I am quite satisfied with all the products. Thank God, we now have an Innisfree store in the Mall of India (Noida), so no more travelling to Khan Market. Yay! Let’s get straight to the review now.

My Experience with Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Foam:

First of all, the tube itself is very attractive. Although it’s very simple and plain, whoever steps in my bathroom asks me about the product. This lovely olive green tube contains a very soft, white glossy foam which lathers very well on the skin. The fragrance of this foam is quite fresh and orangey due to the presence of orange and tangerine peel in the ingredients. The fragrance is not overpowering and doesn’t linger after washing it off.

Coming to the quantity, I believe it’s worth the price because it lasts long. I have been using it for at least 4 months, 2 times a day. I need only a small pea size amount to cover my entire face and neck area. So, it is a great skin care investment. According to me, it’s a very mild cleanser which definitely works well with other product from the range, like olive real cleansing oil, olive real skin, olive real lotion and so on. Actually, there are two ways of using this cleanser: you can take a pea size amount, rub it between your wet palms, apply on your face and then wash off with water, or you can massage this cleanser on dry skin and then add water later on to lather and rinse. I feel the second way works better to remove dirt and grime.

Now let’s talk about the effects. Every time I wash my face with this cleanser, I get at least one shade fairer than my normal skin tone (which I got a compliment for). But unfortunately, the effect is not long-lasting. It removes dirt and germs properly and leaves the skin cleaner, brighter and fairer. I have a super sensitive skin which is normal in summer and dry during winter. This cleansing foam has never irritated my skin, which happens with many other harsh cleansers. But to my surprise, it makes my skin dry and I need a good amount of moisturizer after using it. I really don’t know why this happens, though. It contains olive oil and is supposed to be non-drying, right? Even a friend of mine who has dry skin tried it. The cleanser made her skin super dry too.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Foam?
I will not repurchase it because my skin gets dry during winter. It’s a mild natural cleanser but great for only sensitive-oily skin. I have no idea how it works on pimples or acne, as I have none. People with dry skin can skip it, especially in winter.
