Innisfree Sea Salt Jelly Cleanser Review

By Swati Kumar

Skin Type: Combination

Hi guys!

Today, I will be reviewing the Innisfree Sea Salt Jelly Cleanser. I purchased this a few days ago because I had ran out of my Innisfree Green Tea Pure Cleansing Foam. I asked the sales rep for a moisturizing cleansing foam, and he recommended this to me. The Sea Salt Cleansing range has three types of cleansers – Sea Salt Perfect Cleanser, Sea Salt Whipping Cleanser and the Sea Salt Jelly Cleanser, with salt content in decreasing order. Greater the salt content, more are the exfoliating properties. I selected the Jelly Cleanser because it is suitable for normal to dry skin. All these cleansers have salt capsules made from the high mineral, pure salt filtered by geological layers of Jeju Island in South Korea formed through volcanic activity.

Price:
INR 800 for 130 ml.
Product Description:
A moist cleansing foam that removes dirt and keeps skin moisturized with the help of micro bubbles. A dense foam filled with moisture keeps skin moisturized, even after washing. The sea salt extract helps remove dirt and dead cells from skin. The rich mineral content of Jeju salt acts to protect the skin. This sea salt cleansing line absorbs skin waste and leaves the skin soft.

The ingredients of note include the main component, sea salt extract in the form of capsules and some other salts. It contains the usual Green Complex found in almost all Innisfree products. It also contains ceramide, which helps to form a protective layer over the skin and retains moisture. It has lecithin, which plays an important role in cell growth and function. It is a 4 Free System product, which means that it does not contain synthetic colorants, mineral oil, animal – originated ingredients and imidazoidinyl urea. It does contain added fragrance.

How To Use:
When cleansing, release an appropriate amount onto your hand to break the capsule to create the foam. Massage onto face and rinse with lukewarm water.

My Experience with Innisfree Sea Salt Jelly Cleanser:

This cleanser comes in a sleek, matte, white tube, and strangely reminds me of toothpaste packaging. I love the simple packaging as well as the salt granule pattern on the tube. The salt content is indicated as 20% on the tube. The packaging and the cap is sturdy. The fragrance of the cleanser reminds me of seawater and is also a bit soapy. The product has a silky and lotion-like consistency.

On breaking the salt capsules, the foam created is not very dense. Once the product has foamed up, I massage it onto my face. The tiny salt granules help to gently exfoliate as well. The salt granules never seem to break down completely, and in the beginning, I ended up over cleansing my face.

This left my skin dry and stretched. The next time, I used it like I would a normal cleanser, and the dryness was less. After usage, my skin feels slightly tingy, on account of the salt. The amount of product required for each use is quite less.

Coming to the actual results, it has excellent cleansing properties and leaves my face feeling squeaky clean. It also helped break down the remnants of eye makeup as well as the tinted sun lotion that was still on my face. However, its claim that it retains moisture while cleansing did not hold true for me. It felt like a regular cleanser. It doesn’t visibly brighten my skin up either.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Innisfree Sea Salt Jelly Cleanser?
No, I would not repurchase this product. Although it does the job of thorough cleansing, I immediately have to use a moisturizer. I would recommend people with oily skin to try this product at the store, as this does provide gentle exfoliation. I would not recommend this to people with dry skin.
