Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey Eau De Toilette Review

Hi girls,

I shall be reviewing a perfume today, which I got as a gift from dear hubby. Actually I had asked him to get Pleats Please and since he didn’t remember that name he got this one instead. Not that I have any qualms about using this one, but I wanted to try the very famous Issey Miyake Pleats Please. Issey Miyake is a Japanese fashion designer and has his own perfume line, this one was launched in 2006 . Ok without much ranting let us take a look at the review

Ingredients:
Issey Miyake L

Product Description:

L’Eau d’Issey awakens a feeling of total beauty. L’Eau d’Issey is a pure floral with musky and woody tones. A very complex fragrance, the Eau de Toilette is made up of a wide range of floral scents including lotus, cyclamen, freesia, carnations, and white lilies, with hints of amber seed and musk.

My Experience with Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey Eau De Toilette:

Packaging: It comes in a stylish sleek glass bottle with a cap, which has a steel finish. The cap is of a shape of a pyramid. The conical cap and the contemporary glass bottle gives this perfume a classy edge. It seems very elegant and sophisticated. The nozzle beneath again has a matte silver finish. Because of the contour of the bottle it is easy to hold and spray.

Fragrance: The description itself says that it is complex fragrance. The top notes are lotus, freesia, rose and calone. The first time when you sniff the perfume it is the top notes which will catch your fancy and rose and freesia are easily detectable. The middle notes of the perfume comprise of osmanthus and lily and the base notes are Virginia cedar , sandalwood and ambrette. Once the perfume settles, which is after half an hour or so, you can feel the base notes, more specifically sandalwood. It is more of a flowery girly fragrance, which no doubt is very classy. You can wear it daily and in all seasons, however it is a bit too clean and fresh for winters. I would say this one is ideal for summers.

Sillage: Sillage is the trail that is left behind by the person wearing the fragrance. As far as this perfume goes, the sillage is moderate. After 3-4 hours the person sitting just two hands distance from you will not be able to notice it. But, when you have freshly applied the scent, it leaves behind a beautiful floral woody fragrance. I have received compliments galore whenever I have worn it to a party or otherwise.

Longevity: The fragrance does not stay for very long. I know we should apply it on the pulse points. so as to increase the longevity, but despite doing that the perfume stays good for 3-4 hours only. You yourself can smell it, but the other person after this time schedule will not be able to detect it. I quite like the fragrance and considering the price and the brand I expected it to last a bit longer.

Pros of Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey Eau De Toilette:

  • Classy sophisticated fragrance.
  • Fresh , clean floral fragrance with a mix of woody notes.
  • Not too loud. Females of all age groups would like it.
  • Skin friendly.

Cons of Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey Eau De Toilette:

  • Sillage and Longevity should have been better.
  • Wont be a perfect winters scent.

Would I repurchase Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey Eau De Toilette?
No, I will not. I like to try different fragrances everytime.

Would I recommend Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey Eau De Toilette?

Fragrances are very subjective. I have liked this perfume all together, but someone who doesn’t like floral fragrances might give it a pass. So, I will urge you to sniff it at the counter before shelling out money.
