My Experience with It Cosmetics CC+ Veil Beauty Fluid Foundation SPF 50:
Cushion compacts comes under one of those beauty trends that have originated in the Asian beauty market. This is my first time trying something like this and I did not expect it to perform as amazingly as it did.
Packaging: This product comes in a nice mirror finish dome compact. The downside of this particular packaging is that it attracts a lot of fingerprints. There is a cushion inside which is drenched with beauty fluid and it has a re-sealable lid which prevents it from drying out. On top of the lid, there is an applicator sponge provided. This applicator is quite unique. It is soft as a sponge and has a silky smooth surface and it works perfectly to apply this product. You press the applicator onto the sponge and apply it on your face. It does not pick too much product in one go hence you have to do a couple of dips to cover your whole face. The applicator applies the foundation on your skin without any streaks. This type of application of constantly dipping the applicator onto the sponge and then onto your face may seem unhygienic to most people out there, and sometimes even I cringe at the thought, but I haven’t had any breakouts or irritation on my face yet.
It is the quickest methods that I have tried to get my full face of foundation done and it literally takes a minute. You can also use your own foundation brush if you wish. It’s also perfect to take with you on the go.
Texture/Coverage/Finish: This beauty fluid is thin in consistency. It blends seamlessly on to skin and sets quickly, hence you do not feel any slippery sticky residue. My skin feels so soft and supple and the best versions of the natural feel of my skin. It is very lightweight and does not accentuate my dry patches, pores or fine lines. It feels very hydrating and I can totally skip my moisturizer/primer when I am applying this as it seems to do that job for me.
The coverage of this product is medium. It gives the most natural skin-like appearance and finish to the skin, being neither too matte nor too dewy, but with just a hint of glow from within. It covers almost all of my skin imperfections, from slight bit of redness and uneven skin tone. My skin looks flawless with this on. My skin is fairly clear hence I am happy with the amount of coverage, but if you are someone with major skin issues, you may find the coverage insufficient. It is not full coverage by any means.
Shade: I have this product in the shade “Medium,” which is a very good match for my MAC NW 23 skin tone. I have the shade “Light” in the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream, but in this cushion compact version, the shade “Medium” was a better match for me.
Staying Power: This product has decent staying power in my opinion. My face does start getting shiny after 3-4 hours into the wear, but not in a greasy/oily sort of way, just more dewy looking. I can see this product starting to fade at 6 hours which is when touch-up is required. The staying power is better if you set it with powder but doing that takes away the glow that this product gives to the skin which is one of the things I like about this foundation.
Overall, I am very impressed with this product. If you are someone who loves makeup that doesn’t look like makeup, you will love this. It gives me flawless-looking skin with just the right amount of glow without any residue feeling on the skin. I love that this is paraben free and has sun protection of SPF 50. I will totally recommend this and there is a good chance I will repurchase.
