My take on John Frieda Frizz Ease Original Hair Serum :

I have mixed feelings about this serum. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. It claims to eliminate frizz and it actually does reduce frizz on my hair. I don’t have major frizz issues but it does tame away the baby hairs. I use it when my hair is damp and it nicely removes all the tangles just when I finger comb my hair and makes my hair knot free. It also leaves my hair shiny and smooth.

The thing that I don’t like about this serum is that they have clearly mentioned that it contains Cyclopentasiloxane which is a non-soluble silicone. And we all know silicones are bad for our hair. What silicone does is that it coats the hair to make it appear sleeker, frizz free and healthier. And with each use the silicon builds up on your hair and prevents moisture, protein, or other products from penetrating the hair shaft which causes split ends and breakage. I think I’ve got split ends by using this product for over 2 months now. I have completely stopped using this serum now and switched to natural oils instead. Although it works well as a heat protectant and gives my hair a sleek shiny look when I straighten them.

Pros of John Frieda Frizz Ease Original Hair Serum :

  • Does reduce frizz.
  • Leaves hair shiny and tangle free.
  • Can be used as a heat protectant

Cons of John Frieda Frizz Ease Original Hair Serum :

  • Contains non-soluble silicones!!!!
  • Gave me split ends.
  • All the frizz free effects are temporary.
  • Does NOT repair damage, infact it damages the hair further.

Will I buy John Frieda Frizz Ease Original Hair Serum again?

No way. But I will use it to remove the rings that get stuck on my fingers, yay silicones!
