Hello IMBBians,
As much I love trying new products on my face and hair, I always prefer to search on IMBB to read the reviews before buying and that has been my routine so far. I wanted to buy mini versions of products to carry along for my upcoming trip and when I picked up the products from John Frieda, I noticed John Frieda Conditioner and Shampoo and I picked both of them. So read on…
John Frieda Luxurious Volume 7 Day Volume Shampoo

What the company claims:
John Frieda Luxurious Volume 7 Day Volume Shampoo*
Visibly full, touchably soft. Cleanses without stripping for a natural look and feel. For fine hair.
Damage caused by styling and daily environmental stress creates ‘pores’ inside the hair, reducing its density. Formula contains patented technology and penetrates all hair types, filling damaged areas from the inside out; restores fullness while it strengthens and lifts hair for healthy volume that starts at the root. The resulting textural change makes hair feel and look more voluminous.
*When used with Luxurious Volume 7-Day Volume in-Shower Treatment

How to Use:
For maximum results, shampoo, condition and style your hair with the Luxurious Volume Thickening Shampoo to wet hair, Gently massage and work into a rich lather, then rinse. Follow with Thickening Conditioner. Massage throughout hair, from root to tip, then rinse thoroughly. Towel dry.

My Experience with John Frieda Luxurious Volume 7 Day Volume Shampoo:

The moment I saw the products, I searched on IMBB to read the review, thanks to Saloni, she had reviewed the conditioner already but the shampoo was not yet reviewed. I have other products for moisturisation and I was looking only for volume and that being proven in the review, I happily picked up the product.

The shampoo comes in a blue-green tube and the color reminds me of peacocks! The color is almost same for most of their products. The cap is a transparent plastic screw cap and is travel friendly. The fragrance is mild and pleasant but doesn’t last long and washes off with when rinsed with water. The shampoo has a gel consistency and is transparent and semi thick but is not runny.

I couldn’t wait till the trip to try this shampoo. When used, the shampoo lathers quite good and removes all the oil and dirt from the hair making it clean. I didn’t find any difference to my hair in the shower. Usually with the volume shampoos I have used, I can feel increased density in my hair when rinsing off and this didn’t show anything as such. I towel dried my hair as mentioned but I skipped the conditioner this time. After the hair was semi dry I could see increased volume in my hair, my hair looked fuller and with a lot of volume. As the hair dried and when combed my hair felt a lot better and with a lot of volume.

So it is a good volume shampoo but when it comes to the other benefits the results are satisfactory. It dried out my hair and my hair was kind of unmanageable with the dry volume. My hair was free from frizz and tangles but I badly needed good moisturisation. As I wanted only volume from this shampoo, I do not care so much about the other issues. When used along with the conditioner, it makes my hair more manageable and smoothens my hair. I also noticed that the hair dryness is significantly reduced. So for smooth volume hair, the shampoo has to be paired with the conditioner.

So, summing up:

Pros of John Frieda Luxurious Volume 7 Day Volume Shampoo:

• Adds volume to the hair as claimed.
• Lathers and rinses off easily.
• Gives texture to dry limp hair.
• Travel friendly tube.
• Reduces tangles and frizz.
• Makes hair smoother and softer if paired up with conditioner.

Cons of John Frieda Luxurious Volume 7 Day Volume Shampoo:

• Doesn’t provide any moisturisation to the hair.
• Dries the hair.
• Has to be paired with a conditioner for benefits other than volume.
