Today I’ll be reviewing an eye shadow pencil that can be doubled up as a kajal. I have 3-4 shades of these eye shadow pencils and I’ll be reviewing black today. Let’s get started!

My Experience with Jordana 01 Pitch Black Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil:
Packaging: These pencils come in a chubby wooden pencil form. They are colour coded hence are easily located in a stash. The cap is transparent and fits a tad bit loose. Hence this pencil cannot be thrown into a bag just like that. The body has golden details printed on it and you have to sharpen up the pencil. A lot of product wastage occurs due to that. Anyway, the packaging is nice and handy but just the cap is a bit loose.
Colour: As the shade name says, it’s very true to colour. ‘Pitch Black’ is an intense black colour. It isn’t matte and has a lovely glossy effect to it. It looks great as a kajal. I would rather use this as a kajal, but this is a good option as a base eye shadow too. It is highly pigmented and one stroke is enough for the dark, pitch black colour to show up.
Texture: I really did not think that this pencil would have such a smooth and creamy texture. While that is a big plus for me, the flipside is that since it is that creamy, it tends to crease a lot and also it smudges a lot. I really enjoy this on my waterline because it doesn’t smudge that bad as compared to when used as a base eye shadow. You just have to set it with a black eye shadow so it won’t move on your lids. It might be a good option for dry lids, but oily lids should just stay away or set it quickly.
Staying power: As a kajal, it stays for slightly longer than as used as an eye shadow. The staying power when used as a kajal is about 5-6 hours with smudging and as an eye shadow is 4 hours but with a lot of creasing.

Would I Recommend Jordana 01 Pitch Black Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil?
Yes. I like it but I don’t find myself reaching for it too often because I love my Faces Magneteyes Kajal a lot more than this one.
