Jordana 09 Kiss Me Now Matte Lipstick Review

I am back to reviewing stuff that I had got a few weeks ago. I bought 3 Jordana lipsticks from their ‘Matte’ collection, thinking they were really matte. Let us see how they fared.

My Experience on 09 Kiss Me Now Matte Lipstick Lipstick:

Packaging:
This lipstick comes in a silver bullet. I do not like the packaging. Just looking at it, it feels so flimsy and cheap. It has a transparent cover with a sticker to tell you the shade name, etc. The sticker at the bottom serves the same purpose as well. The S.A. did not allow me to swatch any of these lipsticks, so I picked them up just by seeing the shade through the dull cover. The cover shuts with a click and is not that strong.

Color/Pigmentation:
Did someone say ‘Matte’ or was it wrongly packed? I am sure there is a huge discrepancy about it. This is a copper brown shade with golden shimmers running throughout. I am sure such lipsticks are known as ‘Frosty’. I just do not understand that who wears frosty lipsticks nowadays? Why do cosmetic companies still make shimmery lipsticks? I like the shade but without the shimmer. Still, I cannot wear this shade. Only older women can pull this shade off nicely. The pigmentation is good, you need 2-3 swipes to cover your lips.

Texture:
This lipstick is very drying and feels gritty on the lips. It is also hard as compared to the other two I bought. It tugs and pulls on the lips. Do not dare touch this if your have dry lips. It will hurt your lips as the consistency is not smooth and creamy. When you take off the lipstick, the shimmers are all over your lips. Major dud!

Staying Power:
It does not stay much on my lips. I have only worn it for testing purpose and kept it away since then. It stayed on for 3-4 hours with all the talking,eating and drinking. It fades with a meal, but the shimmers stay.

Pros of Jordana 09 Kiss Me Now Matte Lipstick:

• Inexpensive.
• Nice shade, but not for girls less than 25 years of age.
• Typical Indian brown shade. I call such shades as ‘Shaadi shades’ because normally aunties at marriage ceremonies wear such shades!

Cons of Jordana 09 Kiss Me Now Matte Lipstick:

• Does not even come close to being called as ‘Matte’.
• Not for girls of my age group.
• Dislike the packaging.
• Super drying and hard texture.
• Low staying power.
• Basically, the entire lipstick is a con for me.
