Jordana 5-1/2 inch Lip Liner Pencil – Sexy Mauve Review

Is it really getting colder in Delhi or am I only the one who feels like this. I always try to tell myself that nothing halts in winters and everyone does their work properly and that’s what I should do, but when it’s time for me to leave my bed, it becomes really hard to do so 😛 Anyway, coming to the product of this review, today, I will be reviewing another lip liner pencil from my Jordana pencil collection and this one is called “Sexy Mauve.” I am not sure why is it called Mauve, but that’s company’s wish, they can call it by whatever name they want.

It is a very average/cheap looking pencil with a colored body and a silver cap.

My Take on Jordana 5-1/2 inch Lip Liner Pencil – Sexy Mauve:
Color: Sexy Mauve does appear like mauve when swatched on hands, but on lips, it seems more of a pink and that’s why I said that I am confused by the name. Being a lip liner, it is completely matte. It is a color that can be applied as a liner or to completely fill your lips and believe me ladies, it looks beautiful when it used as a complete color. I can say this as when I got this pencil, I wasn’t very impressed with the packaging or the color, but when I tried it, I started liking it. It looked good on me.
Texture: This color is not very smooth to apply like Plush Red, but yes, it’s not too harsh either. It does take some time to fill lips and does not glide properly. Also, after a few minutes of application, the lips start feeling a little dry.
Pigmentation: The pencil is decently pigmented; one swipe gives a good natural looking color to the lips. On lips, it does not come out to be as dark as it appears in the pencil; the color actually looks different in the pencil and on the lips.
Staying Power: Like I said in my last review, these pencils have a good staying power and may remain on the lips for long hours, but when compared to Plush Red, this is not as strong as far as the staying power is concerned and this is due to its light color. Plush Red leaves a color on the lips even when it’s almost lost gone, but Sexy Mauve does not leave any such stain. It’s not exactly transferable like creamy lipsticks, but does transfer a little on hands.
Pros of Jordana 5-1/2 inch Lip Liner Pencil – Sexy Mauve:
- Nice color with average pigmentation.
- Affordable.
- Available in a good number of shades.
- Non transferable (almost).
- Good staying power.
Cons of Jordana 5-1/2 inch Lip Liner Pencil – Sexy Mauve:
- Not very smooth to apply.
- Makes my lips dry after a few minutes.
- Not so good packaging.
Would I Repurchase Jordana 5-1/2 inch Lip Liner Pencil – Sexy Mauve?
I don’t think that I will be buying it again.
Do I Recommend Jordana 5-1/2 inch Lip Liner Pencil – Sexy Mauve?
If I just consider the price, then I might recommend this, otherwise, no I don’t recommend this.
