Jovees Almond Lip Care

How was your weekend? I am little late in asking but still: D Mine was slightly extended, had gone on a small trip after long and enjoyed thoroughly. I am writing after some time now, really missed it. My exams are finally done and I am free and enjoying before something new starts: D Anyways coming to today’s review I have this lip balm from Jovees, I have tried a foot cream from the brand before and it was really an interesting product so when I spotted this one I was excited to try it. And I can never have enough lip balms, more than the need I am addicted to them and keep on reapplying as often as needed.
Product Description:
A non-sticky formulation, which glides on smoothly, provides protection, moisture and healing benefits of natural ingredients used in this formulation. It will enhance the feel and appearance of your lips and prevent them from becoming dry or dehydrated. Contains SPF 15.
Price:
Rs. 105 for 4 grams.
Method of Use:
Apply a few strokes to your lips when you feel your lips are dry and need extra nourishment.
Active Ingredients:
Almond oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil, safflower oil, Shea butter, anjeer oil, aloe vera oil extract and carrot oil.
My Experience with Jovees Almond Lip care:
The lip balm comes housed in a retractable stick packaging which is made of plastic. The tube is rather tiny and can be carried in pocket with ease, it contains Spf 15 which is great and the stick is sturdy and the product goes in inside completely. The cap fits the bullet well and is travel friendly. The packaging is nothing too attractive but is functional and hygienic overall.
The balm inside is creamy white colored and looks opaque but comes off completely sheer and transparent and does not have any tint cast upon application, it has a slight glossy finish. The texture is very smooth and buttery soft and glides with ease. But because of the soft texture one can go overboard with application especially if more pressure is applied resulting in a thick layer on lips, which gives a slight white cast. So it is best to apply a thin layer with a light hand. Also in extremely warm weather it can melt especially if kept inside hand bag for too long, because of the soft texture.
The texture of this lip balm is quite good and it really helps with dry lips. The ingredients list is also super impressive, but only active ingredients are mentioned and the complete list is missing. The balm has slight greasiness in the texture which may be associated to so many oils mentioned in active ingredients, and hence it is not best to use immediately before applying a lipstick especially matte ones, as it alters the finish slightly. But I do feel that because of the texture it keeps my lips very soft and smooth for long even after the balm rubs off. And also smooth’s out dry lips. So I am fine with it. It lasts for around three hours on my lips before fading.
The only major thing I do not like is the smell. It has a strong ayurvedic kind of fragrance, which is really annoying as it lingers for some 5-7 minutes even after application and for those who have sensitive noses, kindly stay away from it as it is not very pleasing, and hence this is not something I reach often for. Summing up-
Pros of Jovees Almond Lip Care:
• Sturdy packaging
• Inexpensive
• Easily available
• Has SPF 15
• Has a very smooth texture
• Very moisturing and takes care of dry lips
• Claims to contain many natural ingredients
Cons of Jovees Almond Lip Care:
• Strong fragrance
• If applied in excess it leaves a slight white cast
• Has a slight greasy feel due to oils, so not appropriate to use before applying other lip products
• Complete ingredients list is missing
Do I recommend Jovees Almond Lip care?
Had there not been the strong fragrance I would have definitely recommended it, but the fragrance is a major drawback which keeps me from using it often, so I do not recommend it.

Really, I have not tried many of their products so dunno, but it pretty good esp for the price 🙂

Hehe I am not aware how the old packaging was, but yes the strong scent is not good *nababana*

Oh God, this one was a disaster for me! I didn’t mean to buy it, but my mum got it for me, God knows why. I use it as a foot cream before bed now 😛

Seriously, I will also have to find another use for this one mainly due to the strong smell maybe for cuticles 😛
This product stayed upto 3 hrs for you Dhara? I have one and it stays for hardly an hour *nababana* i hate this product *cry*
U have this same almond one kya, as on me it stays very easily for 3 hours and even after that my lips feel soft and mositurised pakka *haan ji* but the smell is a major turn off for me as well *cry*
I also have this same almond one got it as a free gift *hihi* The strong smell causes a headache to me, but still I tried it few times to see if it goes away, although it was still there I like the texture and also its deeply moisturising na, keeps my lips soft for long *pigtail*
