Jovees Lip Care in Tea Rose Review

Hellooooo IMBBians!! 😀

How have you all been? I am sitting here all excited to welcome my Dad *happy dance* Dad works abroad and visits us every 2 years or so. He is going to be here any minute. I can’t express how excited I am and to calm myself down, I am sitting here writing a review 😛

Today I have here, Jovees Lip Care in Tea Rose. Jovees is a brand I have never ever tried. *nababana* I went shopping the other day for some basics and the SA convinced me to try these new addition to the Jovees family. Since these are lip balms, I bought them without a second thought. 😛 Now let’s see how this one fared for me.

Price:

Rs. 105 for 4 gm.

Product Description:

This formulation enhanced with antioxidants to boost softness, makes your lips feel cool and tingy, it is ultra moisturizing. It contains naturally derived ingredients along with pure essential oils with high anti-viral properties to keep your lips full of life.

Method of Use:

Apply a few strokes to your lips when you feel your lips are dry and need extra nourishment.

Active Ingredients:

Tea Rose oil, Shea butter, Wheat germ oil, Carrot oil and Aloe Vera oil extract.

My Experience with Jovees Lip Care in Tea Rose:

Like I said, this was an impulsive buy. I hoard lip balms. 😛 So, when I saw Tea Rose written on it, I had to try because it was something new to me 😀 About the packaging, it comes in a tube form with a retractable bullet. It has a plastic body and golden in color. The cap is plastic too and the most irritating part!! When you are done applying and want to close it, the cap just doesn’t sit right. Packaging is very poor. Complete dislike! *nababana*

Jovees lip balm

The stick is a pink colored lip balm. The texture is neither creamy nor too hard. To describe the texture exactly, it has candle wax (not the melted one) kind of consistency. The lip balm smells like Pond’s cream 😛 Exactly like that *hihi* I wanted to try the Tea Rose flavor because it was completely new to my lip balm stack. Tea Rose is known to heal cracks, burns, etc.  It has antiseptic properties. Tea Rose also helps regenerate damaged tissue and fight infection and fungus. Now, have these claims been justified by this lip balm? No no NO! *headbang* I have been using this for 2 weeks now and I don’t see any changes on my lips. When I feel my lips are extremely dry, I put this on and think it may moisturize my lips to some extent. Yes, it does moisturize but only till they are on my lips. After it’s gone, my lips feel the same way they felt before I applied the lip balm. *headbang* They don’t cool my lips, don’t moisturize much. Disappointing!

Jovees lip balm

About how long it stays. I apply 4 to 5 swipes because if I don’t, then I can hardly feel the balm on my lips. *headbang* And they stay on my lips just for 45 minutes to 1 hour, that too without meals! Blehhh *nababana* Thumbs down!  The lip balm is completely sheer. So a bummer for tinted lip balm lovers! On the whole, this is one lip balm I do not want to ever try again!*headbang*

  • Texture is hard. I personally love my lip balms to be creamy.

  • Doesn’t live up to their claims.
  • Staying power is bad.
