My Experience :

I think after Jomol wrote about the miraculous properties for Kumkumadi, all of us wanted to give it a try. I have been using the Kama Kumkumadi for a while now and I am slightly on the edge of loving it.

The oil comes in a tiny dark glass bottle with very small opening at the top.

It is absolutely great for skin:

  • it definitely brightens up the complexion. I have seen the difference in my skin.
  • it nourishes my dry skin like no other beauty fluid has ever done. For those with oily skin, I’d suggest that you do spot treatment with this. This oil is too rich to be applied overall.
  • I mostly apply it at night and by morning my skin looks super soft, nourished and healthy. almost like I have had a facial last night.
  • it is 100 % ayurvedic.
  • it is an amazing anti ageing product.
  • it is bit sticky. Since you have to use only very little of it, it gets absorbed within a few minutes.
I cannot claim about it lightening the scars because I didn’t have any pigmentation or scar issues thankfully.
Now what I don’t like about this product is the smell. Oh God!! it STINKS. If you have a partner or husband and you are planning to apply this at night, well! you’d be given instructions to sleep 10 feet away from them. 😐 And worst, the smell does not fade away for a good 2 hours. I have no clue what it smells of but whatever it is, it is very very annoying. But you know how we women are.. we’d do anything for our beauty. 😛 So, I apply it at 7 pm in the evening, by 9is something the smell fades. The I spray a bit of rose water and go off to sleep. No stinky face. 😀 Thankfully the effects of the product stay all night long.
I use it every other day because for me, the smell is way too much. If you can you can use it every single day. The product is worth all the stink. loll!!
So I am not discarding this product. It is one of the best beauty products I have discovered for my skin but oh dear!! Try it! 🙂
Giving it a 4/5.

    1. I so agree with Priyanka… we have all been wondering about that miraculous product which made you all glowy… and now we know! yayy!
i dont have a partner, so i guess i should definitely try it… haha
but jokes apart, i am seriously looting the kama store next… a lot of good reviews have been coming up:)

  1. if it works on my scars n pigmentations i dont mind the smell n will even ask hubby to sleep in the next bedroom..lol 😀 thanks for the review n awesome pics

  2. Nice review Rati..i agree the smell is a turn off.. but it is worth a try..:-).. and yes applying rose water or probably panchpushp is a great idea to lessen the smell..thankiiies 🙂

  3. Rati, awesome review and superb pics!!!! I was waiting for thisreview 🙂 We dont get Kama here 🙁
But I have used Kumkumadi tailam from Kottakkal Ayurvedam. I think ppl who dont have access to Kama can try that. I have had a very good experience with it. I am combination-oily skinned n I would suggest that girls who have oliy skin can leave it on for an hour n then wash off thoroughly with besan+rose water. NEVER leave on overnight. It has never ever broken me out that way, plus the benefits are there too. 🙂

  4. awesome.. seems a must have for me.. 🙂 Am sure aadya’s daddy won’t mind, as he is already tolerating my lemon, honey & vit e chip-chip concoctions he he he 😀 hope so it will be tolerable for both of us.. 🙂

  5. I literally have everything in my parents house! Kumkumadi thailam, Kasthuri manjal, rakhthachandan….why? because ours is a Mallu household and we tend to keep all these things at hand. But I never tried any of these, since I thought they were too yucky and messy!
I ll tell mom to courier everything to me asap 😀 :happydance !!

    1. hahha!! I know totally happens. we take everything our parents say for granted and when someone else tells us the same thing, we suddenly want to give try the same things. 😛

  6. i have never tried anything like this but after reading your review i want it desperately. 😛 wish kama products were available here. i would have got this for my mom too.. she has dry skin.. i on the other hand have oily skin 🙁

    1. hi caliii welcome backkk. :)) hoe is the baby boy. so good to see you back. :-* and for tummy you can even try forest essentials mother tummy stretch mark oil. :))

hope you like it varsha 🙂

      1. he he..he is doing good Rati…. 😀 Even now I am reading IMBB posts while keeping him on my lap.. 😛 I’ll get this forest essentials oil now… 😀 😀 I do read IMBB daily..and also your photography blog, and Fashion one..Now I need to start following your fitness blog too in order to get back in shape…though I didn’t put much weight and now almost back to my previous shape!! 😀 😀 😀 😀 I so much miss coming here..but can’t sit on laptop much now…. 🙁

And you are just getting better with every post Rati…mwaaaaaahhh

  7. Lovely pics! 😀 Now I know why your face in the recent pictures have been so “glow-y”. (I’d thought that it was the natural winter blush.) I have been meaning to get this kumkumadi thingie for such a long time but keep forgetting to buy it. My left cheek keeps breaking out and it has a few scars now which look even worse because my right cheek is totally flawless and rather nice, if I say so myself. 😛 I’m definitely going to look for this to lessen my appearance to half an Om Puri.

  8. Hi rati…’m a big fan of u…thanks for the post.
I started using kottakkal kumkumadi tailum,I haven’t noticed any difference yet.
I’m confused between kama and kottakkal.which works better ?
