Khadi Herbal Lip Balm – Chocolate

Hello Lovely Ladies!

I have a curious case with erasers and lip balms. I have seen neither wane into nothingness before my eyes. I tend to lose them mid-way into using them, ALWAYS! Even if I make it a point to religiously return the former to my pencil case and the latter to my vanity, after certain duration, they throw over themselves the cloak of invisibility with no intent of letting me spot them ever again. It was my Maybelline Baby Lips Anti-Oxidant Berry that I lost this time. It was working well for me and I was really sorry to lose it. I pulled out this particular lip balm from my every-color-of-the-spectrum-collection for emergency use until I got myself another one from Maybelline Baby Lips line.

My Experience with Khadi Herbal Lip Balm in Chocolate:

The product comes in a cute little transparent jar made of plastic, strictly utilitarian. It is a screw-on cap model that doesn’t look particularly fragile. But you wouldn’t want to put its strength and durability to test by dropping it around on purpose. A yellow sticker spells out it name on the top and ingredients and other details, at the base.

The color of the product in the jar is an appetizing chocolate brown; not like chocolate bars, it is more like those jellies that make you want to scoop a spoonful each time you steal a glance at them. The fragrance, however, is not remotely close to chocolate. To me, this smells like (for want of a better reference) cheap incense sticks. But I doubt the smell should be an issue for your olfactory lobes given the miniscule amount you apply.

Coming to the lip balm, I found it to be very light which I absolutely love. The heavier ones make me constantly conscious of their presence on my lips and I end up wiping them off in no time. The texture is very smooth. It is neither greasy nor glossy to inordinate degrees, making it perfect to be worn underneath lipsticks. It moisturizes the lips well and stays put for as long as four hours, if you refrain from food or drinks during the time-span.

On the downside, this particular lip balm is thoroughly ineffective in healing chapped lips. It does soften chapped lips but they retreat to their prickly scaly state once the balm has dried/absorbed. Also the packaging mentions no presence of SPF and I am rather skeptical of wearing it on bright sunny days.

While the lip balm is quite a moisturizer for lips with relatively long staying power, it does not cater to some of my compelling personal needs.

Will I Repurchase Khadi Herbal Lip Balm in Chocolate?

No. Much though I like its staying power and non-glossy look on my lips, I need the healing touch of a better lip balm for my chapped lips. If chapped lips are not an issue for you, you could give it a try .
