Its my son’s 2nd birthday on 21st May. Initially, we were planning on a quiet family dinner, but now, I want to call all the kids in the building and our small group of friends.
I am planning to host it at home itself. It sounds old lekin”hamare zamane mein” birthday parties would be cake, snacks and lots of music and dance.
I need your help in ideas as to what snacks can be kept??? Also, the party will be in Surat and almost all of the guests will be vegetarian. What games can I keep for the kids and for adults too so that neither get bored.
I don’t want to hire a party planner but want to do it myself and I want everyone to have a good time.
Any ideas that you guys have, please let me know.There is vey liitle time left. Thnx a tonne!!!
Fartuuuuuuuuu…..Ansh darling is turning 2….wowwwwwwww. On Aarohan’s second budday, we had included McDonald’ ka burgers and french fries. You know, kids aren’t that interested in eating samosas, they would go for McDonald’s any day. Adults ke liye also you can include MCdonald’s if dinner is not included. Also, you know balloons are all that kids are interested in and if you want to choose any theme, you can do so and there is no need to call any party planner. For example, you go about doremon theme and go about selecting doremon cake, doremon party caps, and doremon return gifts, etc. You can walk into these big party stores and they have different sets of themes that they sell.
or you could choose the superman theme or chotta bheem theme too
As saranya said, keep chotu games and makes lots of winners with cute prizes that won’t cost much. Like little whistles or those bubble blowers……make sure most of them win. Games I can think of is making them do sack racing if you have the place. If you don;t have much space,ask them to blow a certain amount of balloons in one minute or so.

On my nephew’s birthday party, my sis in law disturibted random gifts (crayons etc) for all the children who attended the party. It was a good idea.
You can give gifts to children who participate and win games 🙂

Farha…kids usually love bubbles so you can keep some bubble blowing liquid and see how blows the biggest bubble 🙂 My daughter is totally into bubbles and butterflies….she is 2 years and 4 months but thankfully not into any cartoon characters…Advanced wishes for your son 🙂

Fartuuuuuuuuuu….I agree with you….Lalitha that’s a fab idea. You know whenever we have this baccha parties, all those boys start howling and jumping and fighting and breaking…whereas girls are so adorable. They sit quietly and do their own fun thing without breaking anything….grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Jomol and Farha… I wish I can say that daughters are quite unlike boys… nowadays they are equally naughty…now that my daughter is able to climb chairs, she pulls up sofa chairs or her small chair, climbs on top of it…then finds something to cling on the next level like a monkey climbing a branch and starts exploring the cupboards and fridge 🙁 nothing is safe from her exploring hands…
There was a time when I used to think that I should have had a younger sister instead of a younger brother..just to share thoughts and things…now I have one in my daughter…she is interested in all my makeup and skin care stuff and we fight like sisters..thats what my hubby says…you turn for a minute, eye pencil becomes lipstick, foot creame is applied on the faces and lipstick becomes blush! I have now stashed everything that when I need to get ready its a difficult for me to search my stuff 🙁
but the way she copies me is soooo adorable that I end up laughing and having fun instead of getting cross with her 🙂

Hey Nandita, I really adore girl babies. The other day I was at this place, and a cute little with a micro mini skirt was strutting around…..can’t begin to tell you how adorable she looked. I love my niece to bits and love to dress her up! BTW, what else does your girl like, I would want to know what to pick for my niece 🙂

My gal likes to dress up.. she loves everything girly her fav being chains, bangles and handbags! .. she is crazy about her bags .. I got her these bead chains and hairbands from Claire’s .. the hairbands are so cute I tell u! ..She has this nice red color frock that she loves it to core and whenever we go out she would insist on wearing that.. There are a lot of websites where you can get free birthday invitee printables. You can customise it acc to your childs fav cartoon character and take a p/out.
Snacks ideas – noodles, hara bhara kabab, spring roll, pav bhaji, pasta, nachos, cheese balls, cheese cutlets, cold sandwiches, etc
Game ideas – Name Lotto where you write down the childs name on a piece of paper and each one his/her one name. Call out the letters one by one as you call numbers in lotto. The child who ever strikes out all the letters of his name is the winner.
Suck the Gems- kids are given straws and one disposable glass/bowl each. In a span of say 1 min you have to suck gems of plate with the straw one by one and drop of in your glass/bowl.
Hula Hoop – Instead of passing the parcel while the music is playing childen can pass hula hoop through their bodies and when the music stops the child with the hula hoop around is out.
