Kiehl’s Deep Micro-Exfoliating Scalp Treatment Review

Hair Type : Thick, wavy, frizz-prone, medium length

I got to know about scalp exfoliators from IMBB; obviously, just like other beauty products. I always believed that I didn’t need one, or that such products are just eye wash. But, after using this scalp exfoliator, my views surely have changed. Due to various factors, my scalp had become irritated and would burn every now and then. My hair too had become limp, but this product proved to be a game-changer for me!

My Experience with Kiehl’s Deep Micro-Exfoliating Scalp Treatment:

cap

As usual, let’s start with the packaging. Just like other Kiehl’s products, this one too has a very basic packaging. I am not complaining but a little bit of jazzy packaging never killed anyone. Anyway, this tube has every freaking detail about the product on the packaging, so you need not worry about remembering the claims and dates. 😀 This tube is very functional and travel friendly. The nozzle dispenses the right amount of product and you can control the amount getting dispensed too.

description

Before receiving the product, I thought the exfoliator would be very harsh and rough on the scalp, but I was wrong. It is more of a gel with little and few scrubbing particles. The scrub doesn’t hurt the scalp and is super gentle. After receiving the product, however, I thought that it is way too gentle and would not do a thing, but again I was proven wrong! 😛

claims

The exfoliator has a very light and cooling fragrance but you can sense it only if you sniff it very closely. You need to take some amount and apply to your dry/damp scalp, whichever way you prefer. Keep it on for 5 minutes and then wash off with shampoo and follow with a conditioner. It is really easy to use and massaging does not hurt the scalp. Washing it off is also very easy, not even a speck of scrubbing particles remain in my rather thick hair.

back

As I mentioned above, my scalp had become irritated (with my products or me? not sure!), and that my hair had become limp. My hair would also get greasy easily and had developed a bit of flakes due to winter. This scrub has removed all the product build-up, the greasiness and flakes. My scalp has become calm and feels very healthy. After first usage, my hair felt healthy and bouncy. My scalp doesn’t itch now nor does it burn.

This exfoliator does what it claims to a good extent but I am not sure if it’ll be able to cure old and severe dandruff issues. I am happy that I came across this product and got a way to keep my scalp healthy in this polluted environment. If you are someone who uses a lot of hair product and suffer from seasonal dandruff/flakiness, you have to try this one out. If not this, try to incorporate a homemade scalp exfoliator. We often aim for healthy, shiny hair but forget to pamper our scalp and this is an easy way to achieve healthy, buildup-free scalp.

Pros of Kiehl’s Deep Micro-Exfoliating Scalp Treatment:

• Packaging – functional and travel friendly
• Easy to use and wash
• Removes product buildup
• Nourishing ingredients
• Soothes the scalp
• Very gentle
• Removes flakes
• Has improved the condition of my scalp
• Hair feels bouncy and healthy even after one use
• Scalp itchiness and irritation both have reduced
• Fragrance is not overwhelming

Cons of Kiehl’s Deep Micro-Exfoliating Scalp Treatment:

• Price
• Not an effective treatment for severe dandruff
• Gets over quickly 🙁

IMBB Rating:
4.5/5

Would I Repurchase Kiehl’s Deep Micro-Exfoliating Scalp Treatment?
I would love to but it is very expensive. But I would definitely love to try out homemade scalp exfoliators.

Would I Recommend Kiehl’s Deep Micro-Exfoliating Scalp Treatment?
If you are suffering from minor scalp issues, seasonal dandruff and use a lot of hair products, you need to have this. It delivers what it claims to a good extent, but I am not sure if it’s a good treatment for severe dandruff or not.
