Today’s review will be on my second eyeshadow KIKO #123 Satin Wood Brown from the Ombre A Paupieres Eyeshadow range. I have already reviewed #119 Pearly Nutmeg.

Product Description:
Compact high pigmentation eyeshadow, for an intense, even, easy-to-apply colour. Its velvety texture is ultra-blendable, releasing a particularly intense and instant-coverage colour, for high-impact, long-lasting make up. With a range of 81 shades, divided into many different finishes – from mat to satin, from pearly to glittery – eyeshadow allows you to create an infinity of chromatic effects and new looks, perfect for day or night.
Packaging: The eyeshadow comes in a small plastic round black pan which has a lid attached to it. The lid is opaque and hence the actual color is not visible that easily. The pan is packed in a cardboard carton. The ingredients are mentioned on the side of the cardboard carton in a small slip attached to it and the shade number is written on the top. The shade number is also mentioned at the bottom of the eye shadow pan. Although the name is mentioned on the website it is nowhere to be seen on the eyeshadow pot or the carton.
My Experience with KIKO #123 Satin Wood Brown Ombre A Paupieres Eyeshadow:
Satin Wood Brown is more of a dark Taupe with grey undertones. Unlike the Pearly Nutmeg that I had reviewed earlier from this range, this one does not have any metallic tint or finishing. This is more of a matte shade. Colors like the Satin Wood Brown compliment the Indian skin tone. This shade has no shimmers in it but at the same time has a very pretty satiny finishing to it. Here the texture of the eyeshadow is velvety soft. They in no way are chalky or dry. When applied with a suitable eyeshadow blending brush, the finishing is very smooth and even. Satin Wood Brown is very easy to blend with others shades as well.
The pigmentation here is very good. Just a single swipe and you will get the desired color on the eyelids. This shade is pretty dark and would not need much of layering. Many of my shades that I bought from KIKO recently are ones which don’t look good if used as an overall color but are best used for transition or smokey eyes. Similar story goes for this one too. If used as an overall color on the eyelid, then it will make the eyes look hollow.The staying power is good, around 4-5 hours after which it starts fading away. I would recommend using an eyeshadow base as it would enhance the staying power. It did not crease on oily lids though. It is not completely waterproof either as you will need an eye makeup remover to remove it completely.

Would I Repurchase KIKO #123 Satin Wood Brown Ombre A Paupieres Eyeshadow: It is difficult to finish shades like these unless you are into daily eye makeup. I am not going to be able to finish this shade anytime sooner. They have many more shades to offer which I would love to try out.
