My Experience with KleanColor 08 Cranberry Mix Femme Lipstick:
The packaging of the lipstick is average. The brand has given a feminine curvy shape to the lipstick tube. But the lipstick tube looks kind of flimsy. The only thing that I liked about this lipstick packaging is, its color-coded body, that helps to easily spot the shade from makeup stash during rush hours. The clear cap helps to see the lipstick shade form outside only. I store my lipsticks upside down, as they have shade details at the base. But, these lipstick caps have a color-coded top, so do not need to place this upside down. The cap fits tightly and makes it travel friendly.
A part of the lipstick bullet remains outside the tube; hence I need to be a little careful while placing the cap, else it may damage the bullet. One more that I do not like about the packaging of all the Kleancolor lipsticks is that, the lipstick bullet gets detached from the base and sticks to the cap. As I have got these online, almost the entire collection had the same problem and I had received the damages tips of the lipstick bullets. Overall, I am not a fan of the packaging as it has some flaws.
Moving further, let’s talk about the shade “Cranberry Mix”. As the name suggests, Cranberry Mix is a cool toned cranberry red shade, with some bluish undertones. Frankly speaking, I have never been a fan of Cranberry shades much and this shade disappointed me so much, in terms of texture and finish. The color looked so gorgeous in the bullet but it did not come out very well on my lips. The lipstick has some chunky silver glitters in it, that are too sparse and looks gaudy on the lips.
The lipstick failed in terms of pigmentation also. It gives a very sheer wash of color to the lips and it need to layered on to get the perfect color. It mildly hides the pigmentation of the lips. So, I am sure it will not hide those extremely pigmented lips. I really do not like the color and finish.
The texture of the lipstick is actually bad. I really do not like its texture. It is very dry and not at all smooth. It never goes smooth on the lips and feels a kind of gritty in terms of texture. It tugs and pulls my lips badly. The shimmers in the lipstick give it a gritty texture.
The formula is very drying, making it really difficult to glide on the lips and build up the color. It is not at all moisturizing and makes my lips feel extremely dry. The weather is changing and my lips have become extremely dry and flaky these days. So, it is really difficult to apply the color evenly on the lips. It looks a little patchy on the lips. The drying formula makes it cling to the dry patches of the lips badly, so it is mandatory to prep the lips well.
The lasting power of the lipstick is average and somewhere around 3 hours or so. The lipstick does not survive meal and fades away leaving a cheap pinkish stain behind, that is little bit difficult to remove. The color settles into the fine lines of the lips and looks a way too patchy.
Overall, this particular shade from this range has disappointed me so much.
