Since winter is approaching, I am gathering some dark lip colours for the cold season. I love this L.A Girl Matte Flat Velvet lipstick range and this is the fourth shade from my collection. Today I am talking about the shade ‘Bite Me’. Let’s get into the review.

My Experience with L.A. Girl Bite Me Matte Flat Velvet Lipstick:
The lipstick comes in a long black packaging with a color indicated cap. It makes it easy to identify. Also, the bullet locks with some secure clicks and overall it’s a very sturdy packaging. I can also open the small pot that’s there at the cap as it also contains some lipstick. It looks very cute and it’s a very strong and safe packaging that is easy to carry around. It is an affordable matte lipstick, especially when you consider the quality.
‘Bite me’, as the name describes, is a daring dashing shade that looks very bold on me. It’s a dark red shade with a hint of wine. It is a bold red that looks perfect during winters. It brightens up the skin and it suits all skin tones well. It also looks great during the festive season. It goes well with any makeup look. I absolutely love such reds for my medium skin tone. Also, the shade is well pigmented and maximum two swipes are needed for the true color to show up. It can easily hide pigmented lips.
The lipstick has a smooth and soft texture that glides so easily on the lips. It provides an even application. It feels quite comfortable on the lips and it makes my lips smooth as well as hydrated. It is not a 100% matte lipstick but it has a perfect velvety matte finish that looks so amazing. I prefer such non-drying matte finishes as they keep the lips soft. It doesn’t feel patchy or dry. I have quite normal lips so it never highlights dry patches.
But after few hours, it settles down to a perfect matte stain and then it feels a little dry. If you have really dry and chapped lips, then use a lip balm underneath. Otherwise, on my normal lips, it feels soft. It works as a good matte lipstick. It doesn’t transfer or smudge that much. Generally, it never settles into the fine lines and doesn’t crease. Still, you can expect it to settle into your lip lines a bit by the end of the day.
As a matte lipstick, it stays for long – around 7-8 hours. It can survive a meal but looks faded from the center of my lips. After 5-6 hours it leaves a nice deep red stain on my lips that stays for long. Since it is a dark shade removing the stain from the lips can be a little difficult.
Overall, I really like the shade and the quality both. This is one of my best dark red shades and I am obsessed with this lipstick range. The finish of this lipstick is quite classy and I just love it.
