La Fresh Lemon Facial Cleanser Review

La Fresh Lemon Facial Cleanser Review

Since I really liked the strong fragrance of the La Fresh Sandalwood Scrub, I picked up the La Fresh Lemon Facial Cleanser also because I like lemon fragrance in beauty and skin care products.  Though I got what I wanted in terms of fresh lemony fragrance, there’s one factor which just killed the product.  Read on to know more :)

Product Description:

A specially formulated facial cleanser to remove makeup, dirt and excess oil, leaving the skin fresh, clean, and pimple free.  Enriched with lemon extract, it thoroughly cleanses and nourishes the skin.

Lemon Facial Cleanser 1

Lemon Facial Cleanser 2

My Take on La Fresh Lemon Facial Cleanser:

Though I am not big on artificial fragrances, I do love this one.  This cleanser smells refreshingly of fresh lemons. Believe me, its too good a fake-one.  The cleanser is a yellow-colored light liquid which comes in a bulky clear bottle.  I used the cleanser on a cotton ball.  When I used it for the first time, it stung so badly that I was alarmed.  The stinging was due to the high alcohol content in the cleanser I guess.

Lemon Facial Cleanser 3

When I used it around the neck area, there was no stinging, and I could see that it worked effectively in removing foundation and at other times oil and grime.  I didn’t use it a second time on the face because alcohol content in face products aggravates my acne and oiliness and the stinging scares me.  I had put this away because of the same factor; however, when I used the Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2, it stung equally bad if not worse.  So, I resumed using this cleanser on my neck area, its a pretty good cleanser if you are okay with the alcohol content.

Lemon Facial Cleanser 4

Summing up the pros and cons of this cleanser:

Lemon Facial Cleanser 5

Pros of La Fresh Lemon Facial Cleanser:

  • Though an artificial fragrance, smells refreshingly of fresh lemons.
  • Cleanser does its job well, cleans makeup and grime very well.
  • Comes at a good price.
  • Does not sting when used around the neck area.

Cons of La Fresh Lemon Facial Cleanser:

  • Stings so badly because of the alcohol content (later I realized Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 stings equally).
  • The fragrance is pretty strong, sensitive noses beware.

Would I Repurchase La Fresh Lemon Facial Cleanser?

No, the alcohol in the cleanser doesn’t suit me.
