My Experience with La Mer The Radiant Concealer Broad Spectrum SPF 25:

Packaging:  This concealer comes in a tiny compact with a nice-sized mirror inside. The compact is quite lightweight and is travel friendly and can even be kept in your handbag as it does not take any space for discreet touch-ups.

The compact also comes with a leather pouch (I am not sure if it real or imitation leather) and also with a tiny brush. The bristles of the brush are synthetic and very soft, but I rarely use it. I prefer using my fingers to pick up the product, but if you are opposed to the idea of digging your fingers in the product, this is nice nifty brush to keep at hand.

Texture/Consistency/Blend-ability:  This concealer is quite dense and stiff in the pan. It is creamy but it has dry, less emollient texture. Due to this, it can get a little bit difficult to blend. I find it is best to take some on the fingertips and warm it up by rubbing the fingers slightly, and then apply in a patting motion to the areas you want to conceal. Also, the best method to apply this concealer is with the fingertips or a beauty sponge. I would not recommend using a brush to blend this.

Pigmentation:  This is an absolute full coverage concealer, cream-to-powder formula. I was surprised to see how pigmented this concealer is and it covers and hides everything from dark circles to blemishes in the thinnest layer. I have heavy dark circles and I find that this concealer is sufficient to conceal as well as brighten the area with no need of using a corrector beforehand. It is buildable but you will not need to as the thinnest layer does the trick equally well. It works equally well to conceal skin discolorations, redness, uneven pigmentation, etc.

Shade:  Unfortunately, this concealer only comes is 3 shades- Light, Medium, Deep. It does not cater to wide skin tones, especially for those who are on the either end of skin tone spectrum, being very pale or if you have deeper skin tone. I have the shade “Medium,” which is fairly good, but not a perfect match for me. It is a tad bit too light and too yellow for me, but since I mostly use this on my under eye, it does work well to brighten that area.

Finish:  This is a complete matte finish concealer yet the finish does not look flat.

Look and Feel on skin:  I found this concealer to be of dry texture and it feels equally dry on the skin. Due to the matte finish and dry texture, it hardly needs to be set, but regardless, I still do a very soft dusting of powder to prevent creasing. Since it is so dry, I would absolutely not recommend doing “baking” over this concealer.

My have oily eye area, so I don’t mind the dry feel of it on my skin (but I still recommend using a light eye cream before or mixed in with this concealer for best results) as I find it does a great job of making my eye area look matte and fresh all day and prevent any shine from peeking through, but this will be a huge con for those with dry or mature eye area. Once it sets, it does not feel heavy or tacky.

For those with dry eyes, you will absolutely dislike how dry, chalky, ashy and parched it will make your eye look and if you have fine lines or wrinkles, it will accentuate them. You can notice in the EOTD how dry my eye area looks.

Staying Power:  Staying power is absolutely fantastic. I have worn this for about 8-9 hours and it still looked fresh. There was no shine, very minimal creasing when the skin folded, and there was no need to do any retouching, very impressive!

This product also claims to help reduce wrinkles and fine lines which I cannot attest to as I haven’t used it for that long, but if it does do that in the long run, I will more than happy!

Overall, I quite like this product and it works great for me, but I cannot see this being suitable for everyone. This is not the product for you if you have very dry or mature eye area as the super matte dry consistency of this concealer will work against you, but if you are someone who loves absolute full coverage, matte finish concealers, which is also long wearing, you will love this, just remember to moisturize well before using, and you should be good!

Pros of La Mer The Radiant Concealer Broad Spectrum SPF 25:

  • Small, compact, travel-friendly packaging.
  • Comes with a good quality brush.
  • Absolute full coverage.
  • Matte finish.
  • Cream to powder texture.

  • Easy to blend with finger tips.

Cons of La Mer The Radiant Concealer Broad Spectrum SPF 25:

  • Dry texture will not work for those with super dry eye area or lots of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Not a suitable concealer to use under “baking.”
  • Must moisturize well before using or it will look dry and flaky.
  • Only 3 shades available in this line.

  1. Woooww.La Mer concealer, the packaging is to die for.I have heard a lot of good things about this brand but I remember Rati once reviewed one of its face cream and she didnt like it that much,if I am not wrong.Great review Neha.It looks like a very nice full coverage concealer.I love full coverage concealers but this one is too expensive.I guess you dont need to use a corrector with this one so its ok price wise because you you need to buy 2 products.
