My take on Lacto Calamine Aloe Moisturiser

One fine day when I was sipping my coffee in the college canteen, my friend told me that my face is looking dull and lifeless. I started cursing my coffee since I am a hardcore hot beverage drinker and heard somewhere that they tend to make your skin darker. I came in senses when she said that I should look up to my acne marks. On that day itself I bought this lotion to remove my acne leftover marks on the face otherwise i was very happy and satisfied with Lotus herbals sheamoist. I thought to try this after reading somewhere on the blog only that lacto calamine can remove those acne marks.

Anyways let’s talk about the about the effectiveness of the product. I washed my face with Lacto Calamine yoghurt facewash (which came free with the lotion) and then applied this as a followup mosituriser.. It’s in a bottle form and has a very runny consistency. The color is somewhat between purple and peach. It did the moisturizing part very well. My skin was indeed silky soft and smooth after application and remained the same all day long even after washing the face several times.

Pros of Lacto Calamine Aloe Moisturiser

1. It did the moisturizing part very well as claimed.
2. Very economical since you need a very small quantity on each application. So one bottle of it is going to last you for a good time.
3. It didn’t gave any whitish appearance on my face.
4. My face stayed moisturized all day along and even when I washed my face.
5. It did make my skin silky smooth and soft.
6. Time saving since it gets absorbed within seconds.
7. Easily available. From departmental stores to chemists to local shops, you will find it easily.
8. Cheap compared to other good lotions in the market.
9. Smell is also fascinating and it’s like Johnson baby lotion. 😛

Cons of Lacto Calamine Aloe Moisturiser

1. The biggest and the foremost dislike is the PACKAGING. It comes in a bottle form and it’s also instructed at the backside of the bottle to shake it well before using. Imagine shaking a bottle full of diluted lotion and then opening it. First of all the lotion will be messed up to the inner top of the cap and from that mess you have to take out little amount of lotion. So that implies you have to transfer it to a convenient bottle for the use. I poured it to a spare bottle. ☺
2. I specially bought this to remove my acne marks but on the contrary it didn’t helped me in this regard. It’s just an another common everyday lotion for me.
3. I don’t why but I felt some tightening effect on my face like if you feel when you do a facial. It irritated me to some point.

Final verdict :-
I can’t highly recommend this to anyone. It’s like an another moisturizing lotion in the market. So, if you want to get some change in your skin care regime, then you can try this.

  4. I agree with bhumikaa!! I have used this since I was a little kid. Once I played in sand and got rashes on my hands and the doctor told my mother to apply this on my hands. But I like the regular one better than the aloe moisture one 🙂 It keeps my skin oil free, the regular one. 😉 😉 😉

  5. hey rupam! I use the regular one.. For normal to oily skin.. N i LOVE it! It keeps my skin hydrated.. Controls oiliness.. N prevents acne.. In fact it does fade away the ugly acne marks.. But very slowly..

      1. Yea it does fade away marks.. as kids we used it to fade away chicken pox marks. pretty effective though it does take a little time.

  6. Packaging is indeed bad, but very good for moisturising hands , acts as a good sunscreen, fragrance is total turn off for me !

  7. Though I was prescribed this by the best skin specialist i consulted for reducing my acne, it didnt do the job for me…… i somehow dont like it.

  8. It really reduces blemishes n acne marks, use it for a prolonged period..Me guarantee.. :waytogo: :waytogo: he he 😉 😉

  9. i luv dis lotion simply because i revert back to it whever i feel that my skin is goin to react to something i hv experimented… it also prevents pimples to an extent
    🙂

  10. This is my HG 🙂
I so love it…if i have any kinda allegies due to anyother product  or if i have any skin problems this is my saviour…i slather it on my face and leave it overnight and next moring everythng is fixed :preen:

  11. its awesome. one of the best creams i have tried. all other products only claim but they dont live up to the expectation bu this one is really good.

    1. Kanchan, i’m not sure, but u can use calasoft, which is very much similar to this, with calamine as main ingredient. This was prescribed for my 1 yr old son..

  12. Hey,
Where can I buy this from?
I live in australia and I am in love with it but I can’t find it any where.
    Please let me know.
    Sam

  13. My aunt uses the oily skin variant and she’s been using the same moisturizer for more than 25+ years now. She is 50+ and people think she is in her early 40s. She uses no sunscreen though she travels, works and is out almost all day. She doesn’t tan a bit when she uses this. Its indeed a good moisturizer.
