Lakme Absolute Drama Stylist Eye Shadow Crayon in Blue

Hello Beautiful Ladies,

The one I will be reviewing today is from Lakme and it is an eye shadow crayon from Lakme’s absolute line. My take on Lakme Absolute Drama Stylist Eye Shadow Crayon in Blue:

Color: Starting from the name of the shade, it’s called blue, but it’s not even the furthest relative of blue. It’s actually a very dark shade of green which does not resemble blue at all, neither in the crayon nor on the eyes. The color is a beautiful shade of darkest green that looks beautiful on eyes, especially without blending. The crayon has small golden sparkles that are not very prominent and could only be seen if observed very carefully. Blue is a kind of shade that is ideal for creating a one colored eye look. It can be blended to give a light color or can be used as such to give a dark smoky effect and the effect of blending on the lid and dark color in the crease & outer corner completes the eye look.

Pigmentation: Blue is extremely pigmented, one unblended swatch and it’s done. The color is so pigmented that it is really difficult to carry even a single swatch and it is almost mandatory to blend.

Texture: The crayon is extremely easy to use and is very smooth to apply. It glides on easily to help give the quickest eye look. But in this case, care must be taken as the color is quite dark and if used directly without much blending can create a very dark eye look. Yes, the color is easy to blend, but the formula is so quick drying, that the blending must be done as quickly as possible. Once set, it becomes very difficult to blend the color, and if still tried, the color starts looking patchy. This particular shade does not give much time to blend.

Staying Power: The Company claims that it is a water proof, crease proof and a long lasting formula. The color is indeed water proof and crease proof and if I talk about this particular shade, yes it is long lasting and the reason I can think for this is the pigmentation. Yes the shadow does stay well, but with blue I found that if applied with a little blending, the color starts fading quite early. But, as it’s a dark color, even if the intensity decreases to half, the color still seems to be there.

Overall experience: Overall I did like the formulation, softness, pigmentation, but honestly saying I wasn’t too happy with the little time I get for blending. It’s really difficult to make an eye look in the little time. For me it’s an excellent color to be used as a base (as it is waterproof, crease proof and long lasting) or it can be used as an eye liner. No green can look as beautiful as this might look as a liner. I liked the formulation, but the patchiness this color might give is not very pleasing for me.

Pros of Lakme Absolute Drama Stylist Eye Shadow Crayon in Blue:

• Beautiful color which is ideal to do a one color eye look
• Extremely pigmented
• Very smooth to apply
• Easy to blend (if done quickly)
• Stays for a long-long time
• Do not crease
• Water proof

Cons of Lakme Absolute Drama Stylist Eye Shadow Crayon in Blue:

• List of ingredients is not mentioned on the crayon
• Sets really quickly, does not give enough time for blending
• Might look patchy sometimes
• No ingredient list

Would I buy this product again?

Not this color, but as I liked the formulation and staying power, I will buy some other color (I have my eyes on purple)

Do I recommend this?

Yes! Although I feel that it’s a little pricy but it stays all day without creasing and for this reason, I would recommend this, but I would recommend trying some other color before going for this one.

Rating: 3.8/5
