Lakme has been one of the most preferred brands for me personally when it comes to beautiful makeup and product selection. So, here is one more new launch from Lakme in their foundation category and this product is called as the “illuminating foundation.” I have not tried a lot of foundations from Lakme, so let’s see how this one worked for me.

My Experience with Lakme Absolute Illuminating Foundation:
Packaging: The foundation comes in their “Absolute” signature style packaging with a glossy black box and some hints of silver and white. The foundation comes in a medium-sized bottle. It has the shade name and number written at the bottom of the bottle. The bottle is handy and looks luxurious too. It has a nice pump mechanism which works really well and dispenses only a pea-sized amount at once. The price is also reasonable since it comes from a reputed brand like Lakme and most of the good foundations in this price range only.
Shade: The shade that I have picked is called “Beige Glimmer,” and I picked this particular shade because my skin has tanned a bit, but this proved to be a tad darker and yellow for my skin, so I would prefer a lighter shade. What I did not like is that this range has only 4 shades to select from and the shade range is limited to fair to medium skin tones. I wish Lakme launches shades catering to more Indian skin tones. Beige Glimmer is a medium flesh toned shade with mild yellow undertones. The shade is pretty pigmented and has little illuminating shimmer.
Look on the skin and Coverage: The illuminating foundation works really well since it brightens up my skin in seconds. It makes my skin look a lot healthier and fresh. It gives me medium coverage by covering dull skin, uneven skin tone, redness and also brightens up my under-eye area by making dark circles look less darker, but it does not cover up acne marks and blemishes. It will just cover minor flaws. It gives my face a very fresh glow because of the illuminating particles present.
This foundation makes my face glow but the shimmers look very noticeable after 2-3 hours as the foundation loses its freshness. This accentuates dry patches, so be sure to moisturise your skin.
Staying Power: The foundation stays for 5-6 hours on my skin, fading bit by bit, but I have to be sure not to touch my face a lot since the shimmers transfer to fingers. The best part about this foundation is that it does not oxidize.
Pros of Lakme Absolute Illuminating Foundation:
- A new concept of illuminating foundation.
- Reasonably priced.
- Creamy consistency, blends really well.
- Medium coverage that conceals uneven skin tone and redness.
- Brightens up the face.
- Gives a very healthy glow to the face.
- Stays for 5-6 hours and even more if used with a primer and a setting powder.
- Does not oxidize.
Cons of Lakme Absolute Illuminating Foundation:
- Accentuates dry patches (especially during winters).
- Shade range is limited, not enough shades for Indian skin tones.
- The shimmer particles look prominent after a few hours.
- Might look over the top at times.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Lakme Absolute Illuminating Foundation?
Yes, I would recommend it to those who would love to wear a glowing face and would not want to use a separate highlighter. But I would personally prefer a matte foundation because I am not a big fan of the dewy finish
