My Experience with Lakme Absolute Pink Brick Matte Lip Color:

Packaging: The lipstick comes in a metallic gray body and the cap shuts with a click. The lipstick is housed in a silver case and comes out easily by twisting. Overall, the packaging looks okay to me and it’s very sleek and easy to carry.

Shade: Pink brick is a very nice and subtle rosy pink kind of a color with mild hint of mauve to it; the lipstick has concentrated silver shimmers to it which is really a turn off for me and probably for everyone.

The shimmers are quiet noticeable on lips, but don’t feels chunky or grainy. The mild undertones of mauve in the color make it a very suitable shade for variety of skin tones and a perfect shade to wear to office or college.

Texture and Finish: The texture of the lipstick is super smooth, creamy and glides easily on lips. The consistency is gel- cream based kind and doesn’t feel heavy or waxy on lips. The lipstick dries on lips and then, it won’t transfer easily nor will bleed.

The formula of the lipstick is hydrating enough for normal lips, but beauties with dry lips will surely need some extra hydration. The matte formula of the lipstick accentuates flaws of lips very prominently. And, if you have dry lips, make sure to exfoliate your lips very nicely to remove any accumulated dead skin as it could also restrict the lipstick from spreading evenly on the lips.

The lipstick settles a lot into the fine lines of lips. I mean just after a few hours of application, you’ll notice the color sits on the fine lines, which is again a major turn off for me as I have too many fine lines on lips.

The finish of the lipstick is powdery matte and hence, the overall effect would look patchy or cheap on dry lips.

Pigmentation: I would say the pigmentation is rich, but the color pay-off in one swipe is neither even nor opaque. The pigmentation of this shade is medium to buildable. Actually, the shimmers present in the lipstick don’t let the lipstick to give an even color on lips and make this shade a semi opaque color.

Even if you have pigmented or non pigmented lips, everyone would need maximum of 3 coats to get even color on lips; otherwise the color would look uneven and patchy. Well, it doesn’t looks too cakey upon layering you can go easily with 3 coats but don’t go overboard with layering.

Staying Power: I was quite satisfied with the longevity of the lipstick; it lasted on me for 3.5 hours without heavy meals. I sipped a cup of coffee and the color didn’t fade or become uneven.

Pros of Lakme Absolute Pink Brick Matte Lip Color:

• A very pretty pink with mild hint of mauve to it, which makes it suitable for every skin tone.
• Texture is very smooth and glides easily on lips.
• Finish of the lipstick is pure matte.
• Sets dry on lips that makes the color non transferable.
• Lasts pretty long for 3.5-4 hour with full color and after that it stains the lips.
• Won’t bleed or become cakey with 3 swipes.
• Though, the color turns uneven, it won’t fade away at once after eating anything, there will be some visible color left on lips.
• Has a mild vanilla fragrance and sweet taste to it.

Cons of Lakme Absolute Pink Brick Matte Lip Color:

• Exaggerates flaws of lips.
• Settles into the fines lines of lips.
• Re application is definitely needed.
• The shimmers in the lipstick travel around the mouth area, especially if you’re wearing the color for long time.
• The shimmers in the lipstick affect the even application of the lipstick.
• Though, the color is rich, the pigmentation on lips is not that good in one swipe.

Will I Recommend Lakme Absolute Pink Brick Matte Lip Color?

If you have naturally dry lips or don’t like the idea of shimmer in a lipstick, give it a pass! Shimmers in a matte lipstick distort the finish and overall effect. So, I think this pretty pink can be skipped.

Will I Re-purchase Lakme Absolute Pink Brick Matte Lip Color?

Definitely it’s a very pretty pink shade and every pink lipstick lover should have this kind of shade in their stash, but again I will easily find a dupe for this one in other brands with better pigmentation or something that’s creamier and shimmer free.
