Lakme Bubblegum Lip Gloss Review

Hello my lovelies!

I’m sharing a review of a Lip gloss from Lakme today! Lakme always brings kind of a déjà vu feeling. I remember my Mom wearing nothing, but only Lakme lipsticks when I was a kid. It’s a nice feeling. 🙂 Okay, so lets get to the review now!

My Experience with Lakme Bubblegum Lip Gloss:

Packaging: These lip glosses have been around for a very long time. But, still the packaging remains the same for particular Lakme products, this gloss included. It comes in a transparent tube displaying the pearly pink gloss with the company name and product name written in Golden. It comes with a screw cap and a slant tip applicator. I’m not that comfortable using the slant tip. I prefer using my finger to spread the gloss evenly. The packaging is nothing fancy, but it is travel friendly and easy to spot.

Colour: It appears as a pearly pink coloured gloss from the tube. But on swatching, it comes off as almost transparent with micro shimmer particles. The shimmer doesn’t appear on the lips so much. It’s very subtle. The gloss gives a nice light pink tint on the lips and shimmers make the lips appear fuller.

Texture: The texture is very smooth. The gloss is quite thick and is sticky. The slant tip doesn’t even out the gloss much. You do not feel the shimmer, which is always a plus. When you remove the gloss, the stickiness is still there, which annoys me :p . The gloss is moisturising, but not hydrating.

Longetivity: It stays around for 2 hours or 2.5 hours without meals. It starts fading with meals. It has a very average staying power.

Smell: Now this is a big turn off for me. It was supposed to smell like sweet bubble gums or candies. Instead, it smells like Joker Gum we all used during Craft sessions in school. I despise the smell.

Taste: It’s bitter-sweet. You know the kind of sweet that is too sweet and it tastes like chemicals? This one tastes like that. Not a fan of it either. I purposefully apply little gloss, so it won’t enter my mouth even by mistake.

Nope! I feel Essence Lip glosses are better and cheaper than this Lakme one. Atleast it will smell and taste better!

  1. Oh I loved these glosses as a kid 😛 My mum first gifted me the stwarberry version of this – I love that red gloss – if it`s still available I`ll get one. Currently I`m using glosses from faces and maybelline
