Lakme Fruit Blast Face Washes
Hi everyone. Being ever on the lookout for that one Holy Grail skin care product, whether it be a cleanser, toner or moisturizer, for my very oily skin, I couldn’t resist picking up Lakme’s new range of Fruit Blast Face Washes. (By the way, I think I HAVE found that HG skin care range for oily skin, different ones for summer and winter… reviews on both ranges coming up soon). I get easily bored with face washes, as also with body washes and shower gels, and just when I am totally fed up of using my HG face wash, I always seem to spot something new, which I have to try out, especially if it’s reasonably priced. So here we go :-
LAKME FRUIT BLAST ‘BERRY LUSH’ FACE WASH
Price : Rs. 70
Quantity : 50 g. (Picked up the small pack, as the larger pack was already out of stock).
Here it is :
This face wash comes in a flip open lid in a plastic pack. It is a gel-like consistency with quite a strong fruity smell. It has small granules which Lakme says are strawberry seeds for exfoliation, and it also contains fruit extracts of raspberry and passion fruit.
Here’s the swatch :
Here’s the swatch after adding a few drops of water and lathering a bit :
PROS
- • Is a good replacement for their earlier Strawberry face wash.
- • Is reasonably priced, for the quantity given.
- • Has a lovely aroma.
- • Has not caused me to break out so far.
CONS
- • Does not lather very well, even after taking another dollop on my hands.
- • Leaves a slippery feeling on the face after use.
- • Is not yet featured on Lakme’s website. Their website gets updated after their new products flood the market.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 5.
Will I re-purchase this again?
I don’t think so, in fact, I am already planning to use it as a body scrub!

LAKME FRUIT BLAST ‘MELON MELT’ FACE WASH:
Price : Rs. 125

This face wash also comes in a flip open lid in a plastic pack. It has a gel-like consistency and has granules. It smells of freshly cut melons and the aroma is really great. Does wonders for the senses!

Swatch after adding a few drops of water and trying to work up a lather :
PROS
• Is reasonably priced, for the quantity given.
• Has an awesome smell.
• Is something new and innovative from Lakme.
• Has not caused me to break out, so far.
• Lathers a bit better than the Berry Lush face wash featured above.
CONS
• The granules in this are quite sharp and rough, so may not suit sensitive skin users.
• Leaves a slight slippery feeling on the face after use, but again, not as slippery as the Berry Lush face wash.
• Again, not yet featured on the Lakme website.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 6.
Will I re-purchase this again?
Errrr, I don’t think so.

LAKME FRUIT BLAST ‘CITRUS RAIN’ FACE WASH
Price : Rs. 135
Quantity : 100 g.
Ladies, I’ve saved the last dance for this one. In my opinion, this is the best of the lot, and also one of the best face washes I’ve come across in a long, long time. It smells of freshly-peeled oranges, or rather, one feels as if one is smelling a fresh orange peel. Definitely gives a sense of aromatherapy while using it, and also contains Niacinamide, or, Vitamin C, which we all know is supposed to add radiance to the skin. This face wash does not contain any granules and is creamier than the 2 face washes featured above. I love this baby!

After adding a few drops of water and lathering a bit :
PROS
• Reasonably priced, for the quantity given.
• Has a terrific, refreshing smell. Awakens your senses instantly!
• Lathers very well.
• Gives a squeaky clean feeling on the face after use.
• I feel as if it gives an immediate radiant look to the skin.
• Does not cause break outs, in fact, very suitable for oily skin users.
• Another new innovation from Lakme.
CONS
• Apart from not being featured on Lakme’s website, I don’t have any cons for this one, except that I hope they will introduce a Citrus Rain toner and moisturizer to complete the skin care range for this face wash.
On a scale from 1 to 10, this gets full marks from me.
Will I re-purchase this again?
Yes, again and again!
Hope you all have a great weekend.

Hey Sabrina…thanks for informing beforehand, these Lakme face washes look attractive and I wanted to pick one, but now, since you mentioned “slippery”, I do not want to, but I would pick up the citrus one though… 🙂 . BTW, I am so so eagerly waiting for you to reviews on the oily skin care range……come out with it sooon…………. 🙂
Welcome, Jomol. The Melon Melt face wash is not too slippery, it’s a bit tolerable, but if you don’t like that slippery feeling, the Citrus Rain would be best for you. Review on products for oily skin care range coming up very soon.
The berry blast one looks nice but I hate that slippery feeling on my face .Im totally into squeaky clean face.

Thank you Sabrina, I tried berry, but as told it is slippery and i feel to try citrus rain. Can’t wait to try it !!!!
i totally disagree…i tried citrus rain after reading this review and i find it awful…
it completely dries out the skin..my face feels really stretchy after use..its not at all recommended…the after feel is really really bad…the smell is no good either…
not at all worth trying..i HATE it!!!
i was using the lakme strawberry face wash earlier which i really liked..this was a total disappointment..
so my verdict would be that their strawberry face wash is really good and i am keen on trying BERRY LUSH..hoping to have a better experience with it..!!
i got combo skin…it didnt suit me either …broke into a bad rash :-((
Btw does anyone use Bath and body works products from the Usa?? havent come across any reviews bout BBW products on this blog…
I’ve used certain body sprays from Bath and Body, when I was in US. I’ve forgotten the flavors now. :-(( :-(( :-((
